Rate your UD- how's it going today?

I'm very fond of the How is your DD Going Today thread so thought this might be a useful addition... especially for those of us who have to sometimes battle our cravings on UDs

So, on a scale of 1-5

1: didn't get my face out of the cookie jar all day
2: ok, so there were cookies, but some green leafy veg too
3: not out of control & nutritionally respectable
4: I can handle these UDs, a little bit of whatever I fancy tastes goooood
5: food... What's that?! Yup, I had it when I needed it but did it dominate my day... Hell no

Today for me a 1... Hence the thread... Inspire me fellow JUDDDers

Still a bit early for me (since I don't eat first thing in the day), but I'll give it a 4. Spud Day #2, just had more spicy boiled Yukons (about 6 small ones). Not full...not hungry. No idea how I'm going to jazz these puppies up (or eat enough) later on for dinner.

Gotta be a 5 for me. I had coffee w/HWC first thing, then went shopping and had so much energy. Got it all done in record time and then ate my lunch at 1:00. I wasn't even very hungry, but had defrosted some leftovers so I ate them. Feeling satisfied and still energetic this afternoon.

Sorry you're struggling today, Lou.

You give me hope JUDDD BUDDDs! I love the DD thread because if you're struggling, there's always someone to share the struggle with and someone who is feeling just fabulous and who gives you hope. Hopefully, this one will work out the same.

UD breakfast seems to be the issue for me- I need to eat quickly but I've my 3 small kiddies to dress & feed first so I often reach for a cinnamon roll. It fills me well & steadies me but I have it in my head that it sets me off on a sugar buzz. It's probably more a head thing than a real hunger so I love to hear if all your experiences... Not being hungry enough to eat first thing LCG... Wow... It's so alien to me!

Off to bed now, looking forward to my DD & to reading more UD survival tactics.
Thanks JBs, you

I'm not struggling, but it was kind of a 1. I dove into the treats provided by my co-workers and myself today, and I ate way too many cookies and candy. Not really hungry for dinner and have no clue how many calories I've already consumed...lemme see...2 T spinach dip, 3 cups of tortilla chips approx, 4 ham delites, 5 pigs in a blanket, 6 kiss tarts, 4 pieces of chocolate candy, turkey and cheese sandwich, 3 lemon poppy seed mini muffins. Is that enough for a day?

Game of the day: Guess how many calories Cinds consumed.

The carnivore in me (plus TOM) fought against an all-potato day...and won. Had braunschweiger on two mini bagels and some beef jerky. Once I ate the meat, my craving disappeared. Must've needed it. So, I'm not sure how to re-rate, but today has (obviously) become a regular UD.

No idea what to have for dinner, but the potato pierogies I saw in the freezer suddenly sound good...and I swore I didn't want any more spuds!

Oddly enough that we both had the thought to start this thread on the same day. I have been reading through the dd thread catching up after being gone for a while, and I have had one of the worst UD's ever today!!!

It started good with a thin bagel and LC cream cheese. Then an hr later I proceeded to eat 1000 calories worth of Christmas tin popcorn mix. YIKES!!!!!!! I try to stay under 1800. I didn't stop There and proceeded to over eat the rest of the day. I stopped counting and hate myself for eating the popcorn in the first place!
I had a burger for dinner, with a fried combo app I split with my bf and his friend, and then pork ribs and sauerkraut later... And then spumoni ice cream, bout a half cup.
Stupid TOM!!! I usually don't have this issue with TOM, but once every few months I go crazy eating for a day. DDs oddly enough are usually easier for me.
Needless to say this day will be a big fat ZERO!
I will get back on that horse tomorrow!

Oh Truffles, I feel your pain. And I'm amusing myself with the thought that it was some Christmas truffles @ 9am yesterday morning that set me off on a bit of a bender

Hopefully we'll soon meet here to share stories of UD moderation & energy and all the good stuff!

Meanwhile, 3 hours into my DD, I feel virtuous already. Gotta love JUDDD

It's fun to have one of these for UD's too!

So far my UD's in general haven't been as wonderful as I'd like. I think my body is still adjusting to almost no food followed by lots and lots of food and I end up bloated and just not feeling great. I'm also slowly adding some carbs back in (but being mindful of that since I'm a Type II).

But today has been pretty great so far! Maybe a 4 even. Going to have some chicken parmigiana lollipops for lunch, without feeling guilty about the minimal breading and I cannot wait.

My UD morning?
I've been feeling my head buzz all morning.
Feeling empowered.
Amazingly no hunger feeling.
Noon here so i should start to eat on my 800 cal brkt.
Which will squelch my buzz. But if I donot start eating.
Later this afternoon I may have my cabinet doors torn off!
Big hurry to feed myself. Doors in my way. Smile

My UD just got a LOT better after taking my blood sugar. It was 80 before I ate (which is a great, normal number) and an hour after eating some breaded chicken parm sticks, it was 89. An hour and a half later and it's 88!

I've been reading through some of the blood sugar threads and I know other people have had some remarkable help with their insulin problems through JUDDD. I'm not getting my hopes up that I could eat a bag of cookies every UD or anything, but being able to have more carbs in my diet and STILL lose weight and have my blood sugar under control? That's just too wonderful.

I'm having an interesting UD. I got very little sleep last night, and yet all I want to do now is housework. Maybe I am starting to get some of the famous JUDDD energy.

I am doing JUDDD and LC at the same time, which seems to be working for me because of my blood sugar problems. For lunch I had two salads of lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, and blue cheese. One was so good, I had another. lol A little later I had a few scrambled eggs for a snack. I am stuffed right now. I have no idea what's for dinner yet, but I'm not even hungry, so it's not a concern. I may need some coffee to keep up this energy, though.

Wow, LG, that's quite the menu! LOL!!!

Sea, how nice you have that energy still going, yay!!

5 for me today, although I have no idea what my calories are. (which is the first time I've not counted since starting) B: scrambled eggs w/ lf cheese, 1pc toast, coffee; L: rotisserie chicken sandwich (on a yummy costco sandwich roll!) w/ lf colby jack & a serving of cheetos (yes, I counted them out, lol); snacks, 1 freshly baked snowball cookie, 2 pieces of newly made chocolate fudge, D: chicken pasta stuff ala stoufers. What can I say? I'm without a car this week and it was in the freezer.

If you can believe it, I topped Tuesday's feast by a long shot!! My stomacheeeeee We just got back to work from the library dean's xmas luncheon for the library. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't already indulged in the snacks/sweets laid out in our department.

Whew, I think DD tomorrow should be a cinch.

I had a good one Had a few events but didn't eat just for the sake of eating except once (made cookies, had to taste) and noticed I had that great JUDDD energy. Turns out, when I'm not stuffed to the gills, I have plenty.

So a 5 today & the knowledge that I'll get back on the UD wagon after Christmas, it won't be hard & it will be worth it. JUDDD hope

We have a local coffee roaster here that has literally hundreds of flavored coffees and that is one of them. It is so hard to go in there and not leave with over 10 lbs of different coffee lol.
They have a Chocolate Hawaiian Nut one too that is incredible. It really is like a dessert when you add HWC

A 3 for me. It has been fine but between my DH's birthday and a series of pre-Christmas cookie experiments, there's alot of baked goods in the house. I haven't gone crazy but I've had a little bit here, a little bit there &, oh look, a little bit more! I give myself credit for the littleness of the bits but it has made me realise (yet again!) that I can't quite throw caution to the wind with baked treats in the house //bangs head against brick wall//... It'll go in some day, I swear, just not when I'm all excited about Christmas & birthdays

My UD is ok so far. I had to attend and march with faculty in our Dec. graduation this morning and subsisted on coffee until 12:30 pm. I've had chicken strips and fries from Hardee's and a small coke. Also, several cups of coffee with HWC. Still thinking about what to eat for dinner, but haven't decided yet.

About a 2, maybe less. Woke up to a new low on the scale and was excited...within an hour was overcome with sadness and depression. I think it's a mixture of SAD, sleep deprivation, work burnout, and just being December. Missing home and family (living and passed). Had to force myself to eat, not looking forward to dinner. Sorry, tmi...may have to take a break from the board for a while.
