DD Thursday ~ what's your plan?

B: Black coffee, 1 C FF Greek yogurt with Mio or liquid splenda (125)
L: Cucumber, tuna, ACV (104)
D: Cucumber, tuna, ACV (104)

333 total today. This is higher than usual for me, but I'm hungry for breakfast (maybe the antibiotics?) so I'm going with it.

Dawn, were your numbers always this low, or did you go down as you lost weight? I know I'm just starting but it seems impossible to me that there will be a day I can do less than 500!

Trying out no food until late in the afternoon, when I'll eat a hard boiled egg and some bouillon soup. Also have a cheesestick if I need it. I know some Type II's have issues with not eating first thing in the morning, but so far my bg has been good.

When I started, my DD number was 469. From day one, I never went over that, except for the couple of times I went into maintenance (I took a couple of maintenance breaks over the last year to adapt to my weight loss and fight diet fatigue). Over time, I just naturally gravitated to lower DDs. I'm often around 250-275, rarely over 300, but my current DD allowance is somewhere around 350 - I can't really remember since I almost never get near that.

I'm also one who rarely (like maybe 2 or 3 times in a whole year!) fasts completely. When I've done it, I haven't noticed any greater loss, and it's just not worth it to me to feel deprived. Now, when I do higher DDs, it feels absolutely decadent and sinful.

That's an amazing amount of control you've got! I'm totally impressed. And I see in your stats that you're hypothyroid, so your weight loss is even more impressive!

Stats: Maintenance
WOE: JUDDD for WL/5:2 IF for maintenance
Went to a church brunch this morning and there was gobs of food But, I ate a 50 calorie rice cake on the way and promised myself a Wendy's chili afterwards, and I got through it without eating one thing I was the only one there who didn't eat so of course I stood out like a sore thumb, and had lots of women asking me why I wasn't eating. I really didn't want to get into the whole 'diet' thing, so I half fibbed (at church, eek lol!), and said I felt a bit off this morning due to eating a lot at the pizza place last night. Now, I didn't actually feel icky but I did feel very full when I woke up (eating a whole pizza tends to do that to you ).

Just finished my chili and it was awesome I'm at 260 calories for the day so far-will have chicken broth, light vegetable soup, and a couple cups of diet hot cocoa later today. If I stick to this I'll come in at 370 calories for the day, a new low for me

It's really the JUDDD magic more than any real control on my part. I just found what keeps me satisfied and went with it.

I didn't find out I was hypo until March, and I'd already lost 45 pounds by then. I haven't found it to really affect my loss, except I do slow down for a while when my meds are being adjusted. But then, who knows how fast I would have lost if I had been optimized on my meds BEFORE I started JUDDD?!

Also, I should note that when I've taken maintenance breaks, I've allowed myself up to 700 calorie DDs, often coming in around 550-600, and still lost around 5 pounds or more per month that I did this. Don't feel like you HAVE to have really low DDs. Lots of people here have either gone down very gradually from higher DDs, or even kept higher DDs and still lost.

I'm starting an antidepressant (Wellbutrin), and wouldn't you know, it's starting on a DD. I hope it won't cause stomach problems. I guess I could have waited until tomorrow, but I figured I would have to take it on a DD one way or the other. . .

I'm allergic to Wellbutrin, so I always advise others to keep a close eye out for symptoms of anaphylaxis. I actually was so swollen from my reaction that I had to get my wedding ring cut off! Hope it works for you! It didn't cause me any stomach issues, just the allergic reaction, and that didn't happen until about 2 weeks in if I remember correctly.
