One hundred calories or less Movie snacks

I'm going to a movie later and would like some suggestions of what snack(s) I can take to equal 100 cals or less. This thread could be for any snacks for any occasion, of course. Travel-ready, and something that can be taken in a purse, preferrably. Let's hear some of your ideas!

LG, I haven't tried these (kinda expensive) but the Special K popcorn chips are 100 per serving, and sound intriguing. I'm thinking the popcorn smell and taste might fend off cravings for the real thing.

Let us know what you come up with.

That sounds good LCG, but probably a bag of popcorn at 100 cals would be more filling, plus if I get those, I'd be tempted to eat more than a serving, lol. I still want to see if there's something other than mw popcorn that I might be able to get, for more than one thing to take, lol. For 100 cals or less.

I take jerky to the movies--it is chewy and the protein burst is pretty filling

Thanks Carly, but I was looking for portable snacks that are movie theater friendly. I don't think I can get away with cucumbers and noodles. There's surely something in that list, but for intents and purposes, I think a new thread of strictly portable packaged (probably) snacks is apt.

P.S. I love your new avatar, Carly!! Pink is your color (and mine too)!

Sunflower seeds in the shell.

A lot lower in calories than almonds/walnuts, and the shells will keep you busy for a while. (Just bring a paper cup or napkin or something to put the shells in!)

caloriecount.com says 1 cup with shells is 269 calories.
A small pkg of David's sunflower seeds is 1.75 oz & 190 calories.
So, you might have to measure out a smaller amount before going to the movies.

I find them to be the *perfect* snack when other people are eating popcorn, potato chips, etc. They're salty, they make crunchy noises when you crack the shell, you can't gobble down hundreds of calories in 5 minutes, and nobody suspects that you're eating them because you're on a diet!

All sorts of 100 calorie snacks sold in the grocery store and Walmart. Everything from mini cookies to popcorn. Special K and Fiber One bars are 90 calories a bar. Easy to sneak into theatre I would think, our theaters are strict about not bringing in outside food.

I usually take a small bag of almonds; I usually eat only raw but I found some dusted with cocoa at Costco that are 150 cals for one ounce, so I take only 10 or so.

I also may take an apple sliced up and sprinkled with a bit of cinnamon..crunchy and sweet with a tang. I use lemon juice or Fruit Fresh to keep the apple from browning. You could also sprinkle with crystal light for a fruity flavoring.

I have some sugar free candies so one or two chocolate bites go quite well, but my fav is licorice; seven twists are 90 calories and I can't eat that many in one sitting.

And, yes, I've been known to take celery and carrot sticks to the movie and try not to crunch too loudly.

Rice cake is 35 calories, and laughing cow lite is also 35, so that's 70 and a good snack with the popcorny taste.

And don't forget some of the bars...I like Fiber One Brownies for my chocolate fix

Hope this starts the ideas flowing...

Yes, I love twizzlers, so that's a good one! Think I'll do that, and also rice cakes. (I don't really care if the theater bans outside food, I'm a rebel. )

Sorry, I hope this thread will benefit many, not just me.

These are a little more than 100 calories, but you can portion them out to be 100 calories. Does that make sense? I just found them at Trader Joe's and they are dried peas! The whole pod. Oh my! They are good!

I try not to eat in the movies. You don't really notice what is going into your mouth and you will just go on doing that hand to mouth action way beyond any hunger.

I have never quite understood why eating and the cinema go together???

Oh be quiet Kissa, you old grump. No one asked for your opinion.

I actually don't like the movies or at least not at the theater. I can't sit still in the dark that long ADD much...

I just saw The Master...why?

I think I must have missed the point entirely. Good acting but still, why?

I didn't go to the moviessssssss, lol!! I don't go often, and actually prefer dvd's or Netflix, but I thought it might be nice for a change, and I was interested in seeing "Flight" with Denzel Washington. Bf and I don't do a lot of socializing, and we don't go to bars, so when we do go out it's mostly for shopping. However, I got into a cleaning frenzy yesterday, which has carried into today, and never made it to the movies.

Yeah, I hear you LG. I was debating over which of the two to get, and wound up with neither. Expensive and addictive.

My family always gets flavored popcorn for the holiday season, and I've gotten the nutrition info off their website, so I'm armed and (possibly) dangerous once it arrives. Small portions...small portions.....small portions...

I haven't had popcorn in ages, but a 100 cal bag is very filling. In fact, I may get some for next DD for a meal replacement. Wish I had one today

I usually just pack two non-leaking travel mugs of tea or hot water or hot water with stevia and acv. I could use a salt lick. I used to take pumpkin or sunflower seeds in the shell and suck the salt off.
