Start Date: Ideal Protein Diet - Start Feb 18/2015

I have been experiencing some intense mood swings as of late.

Any other JUDDDers out there having difficulty too?

If I'm not crying, I'm screaming - the swings are so intense. It's quite scary.

Night sweats and crazy periods are also present!

Anxious and irritated would be how I describe my mood these days.

Even w strict rotations?

JUDDD has helped my moods so much....although, during menopause (not peri), I had these episodes even w LC.
JUDDD is better for the mood, IMHO.

I get like that when I'm tired and overwhelmed. Also when I'm PMSing. My cycle has gotten irregular on JUDDD so sometimes I don't know that it is/ was PMS until- oh, guess that was the reason I was a lunatic last night. Your young, Hope, do you think it is perimenapause?

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time, Hope. Eating low carb made me more calm and mellow than I was before, and doing JUDDD has made me calmer and mellower still. But I am past menopause, so I guess my hormones are reasonably stable, once I have my insulin levels smoothed out by avoiding carbs.

I am going through it too. The mood shifts, raging and then crying, lol. I am starting JUDDD tomorrow. Here's hoping! Also thought my periods were done because I haven't had one since March, but TOM came knocking again this week. Maybe speak with your doctor...

What's your age, if you don't mind me asking? I am 48.

OMG I know what a ride menapause is and it SUCKS!!! Your hormones are probably wacked out. I finally started doing the cream you rub on certain areas of your body.(bio-identical ). Made a huge difference. You have to have blood work to see where your hormones are they make the cream accordingly. womans international labs is where mine came from.

Sympathies. That is not the normal response to JUDDD. Perimenopause at 40 has some medical risks - if this does not pass, please see a doctor.

On the other hand, many things can trigger unusual responses. Are you eating new foods? Are there any bugs going around? Are you sensitive to weather changes? (around here, winter is taking it's own sweet time getting started - we are bouncing between bitter cold and short sleeve temp - and everyone is sneezing, coughing, and on edge in consequence.) This time of year - with shorter, darker days - I have to increase my D3 supplement or I get similar horrible moods.

Bottom line, if this does not pass, please consider seeing a doctor.

Yes, usually, except for the last few crazy days, my rotations are good.

Carly- I think I can be too hard on myself sometimes. DS just spent a week in the hospital and we are not done dealing with the issue yet, so I am completely overwhelmed.

Svenscame-JUDDD has brought about a better sense of peace with eating. I'd like to think that my fluctuating moods have nothing to do with my eating and everything to do with my hormoes. I went to see an endicrinologist earlier this year as I had suspicions of hyper or hypo thyroid, but no there is nothing wrong, according to the tests. I do know there is something off, I mean I have been emotional my whole life, but my past few "meltdown" episodes have been different.

Librarygirl-Never lost the baby weight, and this is also when my moods intensified (during pregnancy). JUDDD has helped me lose 10 pounds over the last 7 months. I am 40.

Debra-yup my hormones are whacked out! I have made a doctor appointment. Need to figure out what tests and levels I should be looking at.

Gotsmeold-The reason I am thinking perimenopause is because of the nightsweats and I have a leaky breast (which I was told my the doc is not uncmmon)

Thanks for the input ladies. I think I am starting to finally "come down". There are things I know I can change in my life to make it more manageable and I think today is the time to start!

Hope, I can see you are going through a hard time there, sending lots of support your way. Hope DS is fine again really soon.

I does sound like an early meno onset, doesn't it?

Hope you can make those changes to help you 'manage' your life better. Come here and vent whenever!

Okay, I do not mean to cause more stress, but as a former OB/GYN RN I have to say that the leaky breast should not be ignored.

Your doc should be doing some follow up testing just to make sure it's nothing.

sorry sweetie. I'm in my forties and perimenopausal. Plus PCOS.
I often would like to cut my ovaries throats with a rusty spoon.

I have noticed that taking 5-HTP helps me emotionally. I started with 200mg every morning for a few weeks, then reduced to 50 or 100mg a day.
Find someone to love today, especially yourself.

Perhaps reassess when things calm down with your son. When we have a child in distress we are not ourselves, we are in hyperdrive. When my son had to have an operation I was constantly "on alert". I know I was not myself in many ways, including physical ways. Those may have been adrenal issues - fight or flight Mom!

So glad your dr has already weighed in on some of this.

BTW, I too would suggest blood tests just to check your hormones, and investigating the bioidenticals with a dr experienced in them if necessary.

There is a book 'what your doctors wont tell you about perimenopause' that you should read. I cant remember the writter but I got it so cheap on amazon. under $5! It has helpful tips and things to watch for and all kinds of information.

My doc said to me one day, that I was entering it. But said nothing to worry about. Well that made me worry, til I found the book! Someone on this site suggested it, and it was what I needed to read!
Current weight: 175 BMI: Obese

1st goal 163 puts me at Overweight!
2nd goal 139 puts me at Healthy weight!
3rd goal 125 puts me at Goal!

Long term, realistic goal....no medications!
