How many eggs do you eat in a day?

I'm still getting used to eating lc, and eating foods that we've been told are 'bad'. Eggs being one of those. I'm wondering on average, how many eggs everyones eating on a daily basis? I've been eating up to 4 a day and it's hard to do this without feeling a bit weird, since it's been crammed down our throats for so long that too many eggs are bad for us. I've been reading about how cholesterol actually works, so intellectually I know eggs are good for us, but it's still hard to overcome those mind 'hurdles'

How many eggs are you eating in a day/week? Is there such a thing as eating to many on a lc diet?

on the average, usually 2.

there are also eggs as an ingredient in other things. when i go to a diner for bkst, the omelets are 3 egg omelets. It IS perfectly fine to eat more than 2-3 on an austere plan. I am no longer on Induction, so I keep it at the 2-3 level. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

I usually have about 3-4 eggs a day. I recently had my bloodwork done, and my LDL and overall cholesterol have gone way down from where they were 8 months ago, when I switched from low fat to low carb diet. I'm a vegetarian, so I really need eggs for my protein!

I eat between 5 and 10 eggs per day, depending on whether or not I have meat in the house, or time to cook it. That's 5 or 6 eggs fried, swimming in butter and olive oil every single morning.

After 8 weeks of it, I haven't had a heart attack yet.

When I first started back in Feb I was eating 2-5 eggs per day. Every day! Not a great idea. After about 3 months I started breaking out in hives every time I would eat an egg I gave up eggs. I recently started to eat 1-2 eggs every once in a while, with no problems

2, in the morning. not a huge egg fan so that is enough for me. some days I skip the eggs. per week about 8 total

It depends but I've eaten up to 6 without worrying about it!

The eggs are bad for you mantra was propagated by the cereal (GRAINS!) lobby to try to get people to switch their breakfast choice.

The theory was that eggs have a lot of cholesterol. Blood cholesterol is bad. So don't eat eggs.

Except of course that it has been proven that cholesterol you ingest has very little to do with your blood cholesterol which is linked to saturated fat intake and you guessed it, CARBS!

I typically eat 2 per day sometimes 3. Two for breakfast & then if I have tuna for lunch one in my tuna salad. I'm going towards the end of the year to get my blood work done and am looking forward to seeing how my cholesterol is. I have always been borderline high like 214 or so but it runs in my family. I'm hoping it will be down some from my LC lifestyle.

i ate eggs daily for bkfst and dinners for yrs on Atkins.My cholesterol was perfect! Theres so many ways to cook them,really help kill the appetite too.I usually eat one or two,eat more when I make cream cheese eggs.Recipe in recipe room,very filling.Also love the pumpkin pie omelette recipe and I make some good quiche as well.

Breakfast for me is either 2 fried duck eggs, or 3 or 4 hens eggs, scrambled with cream and butter. I often eat a couple more hardboiled eggs later in the day, and then might have something else with egg in it, like a crustless quiche or an omelette, or a salad. I don't really count my egg intake

I don't eat eggs very often anymore, after being lc for 3 years Ive moved on, but back in the beginning, I could eat from 5-12 a day. I'm still kickin.

I eat 2-3 daily, and sometimes more if I'm having something with them baked in. Not dead yet, quite the opposite. And unlike most of the population, in NO way am I choline deficient, which is a much bigger danger than any phantoms of slightly elevated cholesterol due to them (which is pretty much bunk, anyway).

It's so funny that you feel that way about eggs. I always think they are just the perfect healthy food. I think maybe that's because I never liked them much, so I don't associate them with making me fat and unhealthy.

Anyhow... I have been having four eggs every day since I discovered eggcreams (so happy to have a way to eat them that's yummy!) and I plan on keeping up with four a day until I get sick of drinking them. Cooked eggs never made me feel full but these eggcreams really do. I thought it was the HWC, but then I made one with less eggs and it wasn't as filling and didn't keep me going as long.

Three eggs every morning with cheese and ham or bacon. Cooked in butter. That has been my breakfast for almost two years and my last total cholesterol was 138. I cannot complain.

Some days I might not eat any eggs and other days I eat six. However, I do try to limit the amount of yolks. So, I might eat two yolks with four whites. Now, that said, it isn't to make things low fat because I then fry them in coconut oil. It is mainly because I like the lighter texture. If you like the yolks, then it is probably fine to eat them as long as you don't have any allergic reactions. One thing I am certain of is that they are better for you than junk food.

8 a week usually, always with the yolk! I read that without the yolk you can develop a biotin deficiency or something, so I always eat the yolk along with the whites.

And my cholesterol is down more than it ever has been by eating fats and protein! Never again will I believe the lie that cholesterol in food will raise my body's cholesterol.

Some days I don't eat any eggs (rare), other days I'll have 4 or more. I eat the whole egg (white and yolk). I consider eggs a healthy, nutritional powerhouse and don't hesitate to eat them.

My last total cholesterol was 130, so clearly the eggs aren't causing me a problem there.

2 a day for me. I never used to eat eggs. I think you can eat as many as you want. I just had my cholesterol checked after 7 months on Atkins and my results were amazing. My doctor was very happy.

I eat about 2 or 3 per day. Or more. I eat 3 eggs scrambled and 1 piece of bacon every day for breakfast. Sometimes I have egg salad for lunch. I don't worry about my egg consumption. I buy an 18 pack every week. Most the time by saturday I need another one. My son only eats eggs if I cook them and dad takes him to school. DH doesn't like eggs, so he rarely eats them.

And I buy a 24 pack of hb eggs from costco every couple of weeks. Rinse them well and they are yum. I also use egg protein shake mix by jay robb a couple three times a week. Son takes one to eat for snack every day. but he tosses the yolk, funny guy!
