WOE: JUDDDOCTOBER
Start Date: October 2012
Day 1 almost down :)

Well, day one is going pretty well. I have a massive headache but that's always normal for me when I eat fewer calories. Today I had two Atkins shakes and a small bag of nuts. I'm a teacher so by lunch I'm starving and really wanted some type of solid food!!! Unfortunately, I've had all of my calories so once I get home I better just go to bed lol. One awesome thing is that I know I've lost a lot of my weight in the past by eating judddd....I just didn't realize it was an actual WOE! . I was attempting low carb and it was so hard for me at work seeing all of the teachers eating whatever they wanted and not worrying at all about carbs or calories. I'm also working on my master's degree at night, which is where I am right now, and people come in with chips, cokes, candy and all kinds of snacks and it was complete torture!!! At least I have the satisfaction of knowing tomorrow I can eat and not be carb deprived. I knew it was not a way of life for me, giving up some of my favorite things, so I'm so excited I have found this WOE. Plus, everyone on this board is so supportive and really awesome!!

In the beginning, if you need to, don't be afraid to allow yourself an extra little bit until you get used to the swing. Many here started with slightly higher DDs and worked their way down to the lower numbers gradually.

Also, don't feel like you "have" to live on shakes the first few weeks. If you're comfortable counting the calories (measuring and weighing your foods), then you'll be just as successful using real foods. I never would have been able to survive just shakes in the beginning. I need to chew! A cucumber can be quite satisfying, and peeled and sliced it's only around 35 calories. Others do very well on the shakes, but experiment and find what works for you.

And tomorrow you get to eat!

Cucumbers are life savers! I also need to chew (don't think I would survive drinking those artificial shakes) and in the beginning I used to take some sticks of cucumber to work on my DDs. They really helped me getting through the day.
After a few weeks I stopped eating cucumbers and now I just fast until 7pm on my DDs.

Celery sticks help too! Don't let Cindy hear about the cucumbers...

I too need to chew. I tried the shakes in the beginning and it simply wasn't working for me. Now I will have one on the occassion that I want something different. Let us know how things are going!

I almost exploded!

I support chewing and I support celery. I also thought Hvrijssa was my friend.

KellyG, I strongly recommend real food. You can get a lot of chewing for 500 cals. Though not in the school room I fear!
