What makes you smile on an Up Day?

This morning my wonderful DH brought me breakfast in bed. (Did I say how much we love being retired?)

He prepared 2 slices of toast made from great wholemeal bread. I then spread it with some Brazil Nut Butter and Marmite.

I wouldn't have changed places with the Queen. Joy. Divine. And......

No guilt.

Even after a year of this wonderful, wonderful way of eating I still when I eat a carb filled breakfast like this, with no guilt.

So glad I found JUDDD

Leonak,
That is where I thought the 'and......' was going as well.
Thanks, you two, great giggle this morning.
What makes me smile on an up day is the realization that something I simply HAD TO HAVE yesterday has lost its appeal.

On Up Days, I'm more aware of just how close I am again to that earlier time of my life when I was *just naturally slim* and didn't worry about weight or what I ate or any of it. That really makes me happy.

I understand that metabolism slows as people age. It's not absolute, but it's pretty universal among we humans. So to be able to manage my weight at age 69 while barely having to give it a thought on Up Days, combined with easy and casual Down Days in my maintenance, really keeps me happy.

And, as I've said over and over, having no *List of What You Can Eat* which naturally leaves the *List of Forbidden Foods* really makes me smile on my Up Days. And on my Down Days too!

Completely happy on JUDDD!

Your husband is a keeper, that's for sure!

Usually I check my weight on UD, that often makes me smile

Pat, I agree, 'must have' items often lose their appeal overnight for me too. This WOE has healed the compulsive nature of my diet. That makes me smile too

AND.. when someone brings in cupcakes at work on one of your Down Days, you can still take a cupcake, and just save it to enjoy the next day!

Pho! That's what made me smile on today's UD! Of course, my carb level is going to be super high! Oh wait; I don't count carbs anymore. There's another thing that makes me smile.

Steak tartare, a few fries, chocolate fondant, red wine and a Margarita also made me smile today.

I'm smiling right now!

I just ate a nice plate of fettichini with vodka sauce and grilled chicken. I'm too full at the moment for the garlic bread, but I'll make room before bed. Not only was it scrumptious, but with JUDDD there's NO GUILT!

Knowing an UD is tomorrow, at the end of a DD, makes me smile. Also? drool. maybe that's just me.

Sushi is back in my life. I really do prefer my fish raw. I can take or leave the rice, but it helps hold the soy sauce (sorry Dawn ) and wasabi closer to the food

Dim Sum without guilt. I love food stuffed inside of other food! (see: sushi, above).

Managing my schedule so I can go out with friends on UDs, eat what I want (within reason) and my pants are still loose.

Next week: sushi in boats! Apparently, they float by... HUGE SMILE coming on the 24th!

what makes me smile on a UD - WINE! and then other days, Frozen yogurt from Orange Leaf!

Mostly, the fact that all I have to do is count them in my day and the choice of how much of each/either is up to me!!!!!

I love sushi in boats! It's fun grabbing the plate as it's floating by. BTW, my new Endo told me I can have soy in moderation as long as it's nowhere near the time I take my medication. I take my meds in the middle of the night. I even asked her to clarify if I can have soy sauce AND edamame when I go out for sushi, and she told me to enjoy the heck out of it! That will definitely make me smile on an upcoming UD!

Soya is so hard to avoid, and I love so many soy products. Like my soya milk coffees that I have on both U and D days.
