Hey there... I was lurking in your September thread... and decided to join so I can join you for October!

I can NOT believe how much I weigh right now... So it's time to get serious...

My goal is to lose 15lbs in October, which shouldn't be hard because I'm retaining a lot of water...

My goal for October is just to stay on Induction. I've had a lot of trouble getting back on low carb and staying on the last couple of years. I figure if I can make it to six weeks I'm going to be okay.

Back after a couple of years off the low carb wagon. Here to lose regain of 55lbs (and maybe a little more) after my original 90lb loss. I lost my way, but I hope I'm back on the road now.

My goal for October is to get into the 100's. Even 199.9 would make me happy!

Luckily, there are no holidays to screw me up this month, except Halloween which thankfully comes at the end of the month. I'm only going to buy candy corn for the trick or treaters, because I hate it and won't be tempted to eat it. Now, how to avoid all the mini-snickers, mini-twix and mini-hersheys that people bring to the office the day after Halloween?

Hello October! Hello my friends.... goal for this month, again, is to be more consistent with exercise. I did more last month than I have collectively in over a year; however, it wasn't very consistent. I also overdo it by exercising too much one week and then not at all the next.... I need to make small goals so I stick with it! I'm not making a weight goal this month BUT I will say, I'd like to be around 155-ish before mid December when I go away. It's definitely doable!

Time to get back to basics.... no more extra splenda, extra cocktails, extra cheese.... This happens to me all the time... I slowly let more and more things into the diet and then I wonder why my weight is just holding or teetering up and down 2lbs.

So I weighed yesterday at 166... ahh steady for the month. I stayed on plan until about 8pm when I went with my BF to watch the game at the bar. I felt like beer.... not just any beer.... Blue Moon. Lucky me.... it was a special... only 22.5 oz for $3.00. Guess what that means? I had THREE. Unlucky me.... found out today on my way into work that Blue Moon has 12.4 carbs per 12oz. Yep, you guessed it... I almost crashed my car due to shock. Yikes. 62 carbs last night in a matter of two hours. Never again. I love it but I could've had something much more desirable for that amount of carbs.

Fortunately, I checked ketosis today... still there. Then came my beginning of the month weigh-in. It couldn't be so bad.... I was 166 yesterday. 1-freakin'72. Unreal. Six pounds. In reality, we all know that my scale must be broken....

...or I didn't have enough water yesterday. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing it go back down in a few days. Good news is, I'm re-committing.... getting strict again... and adding the exercise in.

PS. My biggest accomplishment from September... not cheating with carb-loaded food. I've stayed true to this WOE since the 2nd week of August WITHOUT binging on non-atkins food. If you know me... that's huge. There have been many, many temptations and on the brink of giving in, I was able to snap out of it and stay strong. (The beer being a minor lapse in judgement.... shoulda had the Michelob Ultra) Hope for this willpower to spill into October.

hi everyone. i'm in on the october challenge. TOM's visiting as of last night; don't know exactly how long he'll hang around possibly 6-7 days, so i'll offically weigh in after he's gone!

my goals for october are: #1 to keep up weight training (toning) 3x/wk and to add more cardio days, possibly swimming as my cardio <-- that might help me with sleeping thru the night.
and #2 to loose 5 lbs.

while i weigh myself every morning, i keep a weekly offical log only, so i don't get discouraged by all the little fluctuations in my weight. and i measure for inches lost at the beginning of every month.

good luck to everyone and remember be persistant!!!

oh yeah: adding to my goals: only one drink (no "sure, i'll have another!") and only on special celebrations (thanksgiving is next weekend for me)

I think I'll join in! I'm scraping in at 198lbs this morning, after a month of yo-yo-ing between 205-201 for September. My fantasy goal would be 190 for Nov 1st, but I'd be happy with a 5lbs loss and 193lbs by the end of the month. Any loss I'll take for that matter!

October 1: 162...what the heck??? Let us just say things are not, um, moving too quickly through my system right now (happens a lot to me with TOM just ending)


October weight goal: 149

Other October goals: To be just as consistent with my exercise as I was in September. Cut back on the cheese and be very vigilant about "carb creep." I think the carb creep has been just enough to keep me from losing much, but not enough to get me gaining. My sister has just finished 6 weeks on Induction and is down 26.2 pounds, crazy!

I've made a commitment to my trainer to have him weigh and measure my body only once-per-month, so I can't do a daily "poundage" challenge. But I would like to join this October Challenge to try and force myself to do "squeem" training this month.

"Squeeming" feels kind of *silly* to me -- it's a weird, corset-training thing that a lot of women in my culture do because having a figure called "guitarra" (a proportionally small waist) is highly-coveted, so Latin women use these corset things to try to train their bodies to have that shape. My mom swore by it and, honestly, she had a slammin guitarra, even through the menopause. My cousins swear it's the only way they got their waistlines back after they had babies, and one of my cousins even bought me two levels of squeems when I first started Atkins this summer. But I feel like this thing is just a ridiculous old superstition, so I haven't been able to force myself to do the training. However, I also feel like I would be foolish not to at least try it because, frankly, they all have better figures than me and maybe I could learn something from people whose bodies are proof that they're doing something right that I'm currently doing wrong.

Anyway, I'm on Waist-training Day One: 3 hours of squeem today

I'm joining the October challenge. After losing twenty pounds on Atkins doing the induction for 3 months, I started the maintenance part of this Atkins lifestyle. I gained 9 pounds so I'm back again. Detoxing through induction.

i haven't mentioned this before cause...i hated to post the numbers but i've went down in bra size also from a 50DD to a 44DD. we have large breast in my family on both sides, so i'm always going to wear a D or DD cup, but i'm so happy that my upper body is getting smaller. a 38D would be the prefect size to me.....
