We said good-bye to another pet last night.

What a year this has been. We lost our 5 year old Rottweiler, Reeses, in January. We then lost our cat, Picasso, a few months ago. Now, last night, we had to say good-bye to our 13 year old Chow/Shepherd mix, Kina. She had advanced lymphoma, and never acted like anything was wrong until she just wouldn't eat the last couple of days.

Keira is distraught and out of sorts. Our hearts are breaking. Thank goodness Tempe came into our lives a month ago, and our Boxer/Mastiff mix, Tesha, seems to be healthy as an ox. Anyway, I just wanted to share a picture of our old girl. She will be remembered lovingly.

Dawn, I'm so sorry for all of you.
My Dad's dog passed away a week ago and my dad is as British stiff-upper-lip as they come. He keeps calling and crying. It makes me really happy that our dogs and cats bring us so much love that it busts our hearts wide open like that.

Much love to all of you.

I'm so sorry. Your Kina was a cutie. Puppies are so much fun but there's nothing like the sweetness of an older dog. I lost my 15 year old GSD Luna 2 weeks ago. I miss her so much. Maybe they're hanging out in doggy heaven together.

Condolences to Dawn's family, JoyJoy and her dad, and Mrs. S.

Take time to play with the pet when the pet thinks now is the time They know best, and it will do us as much good as them. We'd be hard pressed to come up with anyone more important who should get that bit of time instead.

I am so sorry.

This happened to me last year; All three of my cats died over the year. They were 15-16 y o.

Still have a dog but miss having a snuggle bug.

Again, so sorry.

Been there and can totally relate. I'm so sorry for your losses. I know how difficult it is. 3 Years later I still get tearful sometimes but for Happy, our Shiba Inu, it was his time to go at 14 years and 2 months. The rest of his litter barely made 8 years, so we were very blessed to have Happy all those years. Your pets remain with you in your heart and in your memories - those memories are yours and theirs to share forever - until, I hope we meet again.

Dearest Dawn, I am so sad to read this. All of you must just be reeling with the loss of yet another beloved pet. Kiera must be so confused, I am glad she has such great grounded parents to help her.

My heart goes out to you.

I am sad to hear about this beautiful friend.

Joy, I agree that they make us so happy and yet we hurt so much when we have to say goodbye. I understand how your dad feels as well.

Oh Dawn, I'm so sorry. Losing one pet is bad enough, but 3 in such a short time is terrible.
We lost my dad's dog, Hunter, back in March, and I still cry about him. He was the best dog we ever had, he didn't even live with me and I miss him.
