Glucomannan pudding (I made a lot because my last DD was a DD fail so I wanted to try to be less hungry; neglible calories because it was made of water, cocoa powder, stevia, and glucomannan) Lunch: "Thai carrot soup" (bought, 200 calories) Dinner (planned): salad, low calorie dressing, egg, egg whites, and roasted green beans (I have been roasting them with a couple sprays of cooking spray to total 300 calories |

B - Coffee w/half n half and Torani. 3/4 cup of Cap'n Crunch PB cereal (brought it to work and tried to eat them one at a time to make it last, but that didn't work out so well.) L - Cucumber slices and 2 roma tomatoes D - Scared! We're going to our local Oktoberfest celebration, where there will be brats, beer, sauerkraut and all that other good stuff! Ok, well my DD suddenly turned into something horrible! I ate my planned lunch....THEN decided it would be ok to have a couple m&m cookies. I didn't stop there--ate a bag of Cheetos from the vending machine.
I've been doing sooooo good with my down days. I really don't know what went wrong....now I feel defeated. ![]() ![]()

![]() Last night we had taco pizza--I stopped eating at 6. The pizza wasn't agreeing with me so I ended up going to bed around 7:30.... When I got up at 4am, wasn't hungry. Didn't even feel like drinking my coffee but I did. I brought a small container of capn crunch cereal just in case I needed "something". Was a 1/2 hour into work when I polished off the cereal. Feeling ravenous! 2 hours later, I ended up eating my lunch because I couldn't take it anymore! I had to get something in my mouth! ![]() ![]() So here comes 11:00, and I don't have anything at lunchtime--so I went downstairs to vending and got cheetos and the cookies. It's a slow day--a lot of people are off work because there is a festival going on in town, some people are off work hunting, etc. I wonder if I was eating out of boredom? But then again, I was focused on eating something salty, and sweet.....so maybe it's something else? No matter what, I'm going to continue the rotation.....I'm over on my DD cals about 150 right now.

I no longer believe that carbs are always evil, but on a DD, sugar has utterly destroyed me. I think it's because it triggers insulin and then b/c you had nothing else in your stomach--no fat, no protein, no nothing, it probably caused a spike! Leading to... Quote:

I agree, it's the cereal. I don't ever eat it because it is like eating NOTHING , nothing that then stimulates hunger in the worst way possible for me...or a HUGE sugar crash.
Lisa, what calorie level or you at now? Depending on your plans for the weekend you could either make today an up day OR make it a mid day and still have a good up day tomorrow. Either way, can you get some protein in? The carbs in your system aren't helping the hunger at all!

![]() exactly. If you're going to have carbs, go for non-refined, complex carbs and have some fat/protein with them (I don't give a da*n what the food-combiners say, that's how I do it). Dr J recommends this in the book as well (he poo-poo's atkins, as usual, but advises to stay away from the white stuff...) I don't think *all* cereal is evil, but ya, sugary corn stuff... I found a higher fiber, lower sugar version of multigrain cheerios (house "healthy" brand at my local supermarket chain) and I have those with some almond milk, but only on UD b/c it's still 300 cal, and I usually want eggs or cheese in addition.
