Fat Bomb???

I have read about NK... what is a fat bomb made of?

Start date is 5/20/2012
Start weight is 220 lbs.
Current weight 188 lbs.
Goal weight is 120-130 lbs.
5'4"

Exercise & lift weights atleast 3 times each week.
My goal is to loose 10 lbs per month.

A fat bomb is typically a high fat/high calorie quick snack to help get your calories up for the day.
Seems a lot of them are made like the coconut bark (coconut oil, cocoa, sweetener) and some have the addition of nut butters or cream to make them higher fat/calorie.
I could be wrong, but that's my understanding.

I make them in paper liners so they look just like a Reese Peanut Butter Cup. 1/2 cup coconut oil, 1/2 cup Kraft Crunchy Peanut Butter (the all natural stuff gives a bad texture and flavor I don't like) and 2 tbsp of cocoa. Melt, stir and poor into the liners for 8 servings. They don't need sweetener with the regular peanut butter, have +/- 3 carbs, and are very creamy and yummy!

Officially down 50 lbs! Another 30 or so to my first goal, then I'll re-evaluate.

Couldn't do it without all the amazing support and motivation from this forum and all the wonderful people here.

I guess mine are about the same as others, I use coconut oil, natural(no sugar)chunky peanut butter, a little Hershey's dark chocolate cocoa powder, and heavy cream. I don't really have measurements, i just mix it till it looks good, throw it in the freezer as bark or in liners. I eat them when I want to up my fat for the day. I don't use sweeteners but you can add that to any you make.

Most regular peanut butters have sugar or HFCS. I like ground peanut butter from fresh market.

After losing 42lbs on LC (Dr. Bernstein) and drastically improving my blood sugar and reducing meds, I found I stalled for a year in my weight loss. For the last 2 months I have been trying for Nutritional Ketosis. Since I don't have a meter this has been guess work on my part of lowering my protein and upping my fat consumption - keeping carbs about the same.

One of the high fat/low protein treats I use is a coconut candy recipe posted here more than a year ago by LJGuitar. I also use cream cheese clouds from Linda Sue's website.

The new fat bomb recipe I've been using is from another website that contains coconut oil, almond butter, cocoa, sweetener, and butter.

Before I started the NK experiment I would just have a slice of cheese or a tablespoon of peanut butter if I was hungry. The high fat treats up my fat while keeping protein low.

I've just made some, per the recipe below, and have poured them into an ice cube tray and put them in the freezer for a bit, before transferring to the fridge:-

80g Lindt 90% dark chocolate
60g Nutiva Coconut oil
30g Salted Butter
60g HWC
40g Cypressa Tahini (it's only 1.9g carb per 100g)
20g Crushed walnuts

It tastes nice all warm and melted, but I don't know what it'll be like once they set (if they ever do)!

It's made 16 cubes, each containing 1g carb and 115 calories. Percentages are 92% fat, 5% protein and 3% carb.

my version of fat bomb:

as
1 pkg Kerrygold butter
1 tub cream cheese
1 cup peanut butter

when everythings is room temp, blend. Put into serving size portions and chill. Droooollll....

I just had a fat bomb this morning....it's tasty but one a day seems like plenty.

I think I would prefer the cream cheese cloud-although one might not be enough of those...I may hold off...

Here is my fav....

1/2 cup natural almond butter
2/3 cup vco
1/4 cup raw almond butter
liquid sucralose to taste
salt to taste

and for a quick, 'no fuss and no mess' single serving....

1 tbsp coconut butter and 1 tbsp vco combined.

OH! MY! GAWD! I stumbled across this thread a couple days ago & decided to try my own little version of a Fat Bomb. Here's what I used...

1/4 cup Nutiva Coconut Oil
1/4 cup Organic Sunbutter
1Tbsp Hershey Cocoa Powder (just the reg for now I'm gonna pick up the extra dark several people mentioned next time I go grocery shopping sounds YUMMY!)

I tried a very small piece ( a fat firecracker, I suppose! lol ) this morn & I'm one happy girl! It tastes to me like a candy bar! Whoever came up with the original recipe for this absolutely ROCKS!!

Side note.... I gave up sweenteners & sugar a few months ago & my taste buds have changed radically!! This could pass for a sweet treat to me & to my knowledge, there is no sweetener in any of it. Someone who uses AS or some other forms of sweentener may find this very bitter & not so pleasant. That's usually the way the DH (who doesn't do LC) describes things I have him taste test.

Ok - I drank the koolaid and made some using the PB+coconut oil recipe above, plus I added a piece of dark chocolate. Oh my gosh..yum!!

UNFORTUNATELY..my boyfriend discovered my stash, ate one and claims he lost 5 pounds the morning after. So now, of course, he's always wanting more.

I should tell him the chocolate in it is really Ex-lax.

I found this recipe here on LCF but can't remember where...

1 1/2c Shredded Coconut Unsweetened
100g of Dark Chocolate (I used 85%)
1c Melted COil
1/2c Almond Butter (The one I used is just ground almonds)
6tbs SFV Syrup

Mmmm they are a little too good
