Hungry on DD

I'm really hungry today..
400 calories for a WHOLE DAY just seems so little.
The clock is crawling... I'm sipping tea, and trying to figure out how many calories I still have, but my brain's only firing on 1 cylinder I think.
Lemme think:
Breakfast - 70 calories
snack - 45 calories
Lunch - 100 calories
Dinner - projected at another 100 calories
310 calories? So I have enough of an allowance to have a cracker & cheese? I never thought I'd be so happy about a cracker and cheese.. lol!

LOL To Cute. I have found those wasa crackers with cream chesses or other cheeses to be veryfilling and the cracker is only 45 caloires.. and like 90 for two tbs of bar chesse,, so yum.

Start Date: 7/4/2012 -- 42 lbs lost total
Egg Drop Soup with Noodles

This is my meal of Down Day Desperation:
  • 1 tub Knorr Chicken Stock (30 cal)
  • 2-3 Cups Water (0 Cal)
  • 1 Bag Miracle Noodles (0 cal)
  • 1 Srv Egg Beaters (25 cal)

Whole pot of soup is 55 calories. I can usually get by on half. And while I'm not a big fan of shirataki noodles in all applications, they really work in strong-flavored soups. This gets me through the low points. You can make it more filling by adding glucomannan powder to the broth to thicken it.

In my first couple of weeks, I didn't hurt myself at all by not going all the way down to the 20% level on DDs. Some days I had an extra 75-100 calories, which put me at 25% and that's still pretty good.

I also found that my meals needed a fairly strong punch of protein and fat to hold me for several hours. For instance, a couple of ounces of water-pack tuna and a tablespoon of reduced calorie mayo worked better for me than any veggie/fruit based snack during the day.

My Laughing Cow and wasa crackers are my good-night snack.

Ok - so the stock mention leads me to a question of mine - I make my own broth... Veggie bits and end pieces, peels, etc that we don't want to eat, all in a pot with chicken bones & a splash of vinegar - cooked until all the goodness is out into the water... How on earth do I count calories for this?

As long as you skim the fat off the top of your broth, it's unlikely to be any more calorific than the commercial brands.

Well i know on the Swansons it says 40 per cup if i recall correct.. So i would just kind of round up IMHO to maybe 50.. But some one else here may have the Correct answer

Thank you! I may go by a grocery store later & check... 50 calories per cup - that's highway robbery! (lol) I've only got 400 calories for my whole day, lol!!

The packaged stock that I use dissolves in two cups of water and is 30 calories for the whole thing.

I make my own stock for homemade soups BUT for DD's I use the chicken broth cubes at 5 calories per cube.

Do you guys know of any packaged/powdered stock/bullion that doesn't have any sugar in it? Every kind I've seen always has sugar - that's why I make my own..

And while we're asking questions about stock/broth--anyone have one with no soy, and no MSG? I think I'm asking too much here, but my Wyler's gives me real issues and I'm thinking I'm sensitive to the MSG.
