What kind of cheese is Baybel light?

I've tried to find out, and the best guesses I've seen are that it's a light edam.
I picked up some edam to compare (can't find a light one) and the flavor isn't at all the same, to me.
Anyone know?

On their nutrition facts...
All that is included is pasteurized cultured part-skim milk, salt and microbial enzymes.

All I know, is that I love babybels and so does my boxer & choc lab.

Yep, I would go with Edam! Or maybe Gouda, but it tastes like light Edam to me!

I think the one in the red wrapper is Edam, the purple ones are cheddar, not sure about the yellow ones.

I go with edam, definitely the red ones. I believe the blue ones are thus light edam. The other colors are other "flavors" like cheddar and I think swiss?

I really like the blue one, but I can't find light edam lol. I just hate paying $4 for 6 small cheeses, cute though they are!

I only buy them when they are on offer! Plus my kids would just eat them all anyway! They are good though for portion control. I work on a cheese counter in a deli and have noticed that the ones made with sheeps milk such as feta are lower in calories. Not sure about goats cheese but I really don't like that stuff anyway.

Dottie, we've been finding the light Babybels at Sam's Club.

Yes, original Babybel is an edam cheese.

I picked up some Bel Paese medallions and they're a nice cream cheese, but not like the bay bel lights.
