Wine on a DD!

I just thought I would post something encouraging for everyone new. After a few months of glorious JUDDD my formerly HARD DD's have gotten to where it is entirely possible for me to eat only a few hundred calories on my DD and not feel deprived or even hungry. Tonight as I was well under 200 calories for the whole day, my DH who is doing JUDDD with me decided to split a bottle of wine between us (ok, he got more than I did but I still managed a nice glass and a half). It was lovely and in no way do I feel like I'm suffering. In fact, I've never felt more alive or optimistic about eating. The world has opened up in front of me and I can finally have anything I want and not feel guilty.

I wish each and every one of you to reach this place of calm and happiness that I have made it to.

Happy JUDDDing

Glad you posted! This has to be very encouraging for some of the newer JUDDDers to read.

I sort of think that fasting, even the idea of fasting, is pretty hard for a lot of us because.. well, let's face it.. Many of us are here in the first place because we're big eaters, not small eaters. So eating small every other day hardly computes for some of us. But by moderating our eating very, very well on our Up Days by the DD fasts every other day, it not only regulates our weight through a smaller consumption, we get the added benefit of appetite regulation and natural suppression! Full nourishment from Up Days. Weight and health regulation from Down Days. And all you have to do is just do it. And sometimes that can be done with wine! Wow!

Gulcommanan and (tmi) diarrhea

Sorry, too much info... I'm experiencing diarrhea after a teaspoon of gluc powder in my shake in the morning. Does anyone else have a problem with this?

Lynnport I have moved your question onto the main JUDDD page, hope that is okay.

Elise, you sound to me like a happy couple benefiting from the joys of JUDDD.

I have often enjoyed wine on a DD, it is the calories we are counting after all. And isn't wine one of our 7 a day?

Elise, that is very, very cool. Or sick, or whatever the current adjective is, meaning wonderful.

Elise - so glad that things have become much better. I myself have enjoyed a glass or 2 on a DD as well! That or crystal light with some vodka! YUM It's Friday and a DD and I have already started planning my day to allow for that!

Sometimes a glass of wine kills the appetite and you can not have dinner. The trick is to stay on one glass. Not managed that one yet.

Alcohol makes me very, very hungry. Plus I can't drink on an empty stomach, so I'm afraid I have to stay dry on DD. But I've managed to sneak in a couple beers on UD.

I have been enjoying small amounts of alcohol on my down days. In fact, I'm enjoying a Molson 67 beer right now...67 calories. The alcohol content is low for a Canadian beer (3%). Also, it only has 2 carbs. It's so hot today, a light beer is really hitting the spot!

I'm going to have to look for that 64 calorie beer! I'm not much of a beer drinker, I must confess, but my DH does like one occassionally. I have a deep and long standing love affair with my wine I'm afraid. When I was low carbing, I switched to coke zero and rum but the relationship was never the same.

I've traveled extensively and I was always so sad that my area just doesn't have good pubs like most of Europe does. I'll always hold a special place in my heart for Ireland just for their ability to maintain good pubs. Sorry, totally off topic
