Help! I've fallen and I don't know whether to do down or up!

Had an "enterically challenged" day yesterday, bad bout of montezuma's revenge first thing on a down day (weirdly may have been triggered by adding a tbsp of CO to my morning tea--usually never an issue, but I haven't done it on a DD before). And couldn't make it to evening meal, which is where I usually clump up my 500 calories. Had a Fage greek yogurt around 4pm, then made the mistake of buying a box of Mini Wheats cereal after work, and ended up eating about HALF the box for dinner, sigh. No more cereal, I love it too much and missed it too much on strict low carb. But while I ended up with about 1700 cals for the day, I'm majorly freaking out about screwing up my rotation! Wise JUDDDers, what's the best way to recover from a fallen DD?? Sooooo don't want this to blow my week's weight loss....

Hi Divine: from what I've learned through reading in the forum, you would do best with a DD tomorrow. That's what I would do. Days like these are happening, and wise juddd budds say: juddd is forgiving.
I'm new to juddd, but I guess the wise ones will chime in soon. they always do haha

IMHO you dust the crumbs off and decide how you feel whether tomorrow is a DD or UD. I typically know if I can make it work or not.

If 1700 is close to your UD number, consider yesterday an UD and make today a DD. In the grand scheme of things, this is but a minor blip.

I do agree with DAWN here.. Plus.. Sometimes we all have those days,I too did it once.(well twice ) but whos counting Thing to remember here is this.. JUDD is forgiving..BUT..You must also be forgiving to your self.. IT happens.. Some times food just kind of takes over.. but if you get up and start fresh agian you have lost nothing.. failure is only in the quitting.. Hang in there girl~ You got this..

Awwwww, thanks Kimberly! And everyone who replied to my SOS.

You are so right--it's always the 90% of crazy in my head that makes all the trouble, not the 10% of any actual damage done. I took all of your good advice and made it a down day and started fresh with no real trouble at all! Of course I don't do the daily weighing, so end of the week will tell the real damage story. I can't tell you how much difference it makes to feel so supported by the incredible, generous and loving people that are in this forum--I wish I'd de-lurked so much sooner!

Hi Kissa, thanks for checking on me! DD going just fine today, no gastric challenges, thank god! My working theory on what happened the last DD is that taking CO on a fasted tummy overwhelmed my gallbladder-less system and things literally went south, tee hee. Didn't do it today, so far so good...I do miss my cereal, sigh, but I really notice inflammation going up when I over-carb (I've got multiple "itis"s, but I'm fighting those buggers!)

I'm bumping this up because I'm in the same boat...

Back at 223 again this morning and today is DD. All was fine and good until friends invited us out for dinner. Frankly, I'm fed up with caving into everyone's food demands. I really like JUDDD but get called out by everyone when I said I can't eat because of calorie intake. I don't want to embarass DH so I let everyone intimidate me into eating.

So...guess it's back to DD again tomorrow...*sigh*

Oooh, I'm afraid of cereal. If there was a box of frosted mini wheats in my house on an UD I would probably eat the whole thing! (And pay the rumbly tummy price for it! )

DH got us invited to lunch on a DD when we went to his reunion. I could have killed him but I went along, ordered a chef salad. I ate the lettuce, tomato and HB egg, no dressing and no one ever noticed what I was doing. About 100 calories and I was actually surprised at how easy it was to just keep nibbling and talking to others at the table. It is easier when you never mention what you are doing. just smile a lot. I had to do the same thing again at the reunion dinner and again no one noticed that I only ate off the veggie tray without the dip. Lots of low calorie veggies looks like a lot of food.

SOOOO it can be done.

Now if my DH were on this diet, he would let someone talk him into having an UD everyday. I know him all too well.

Great advice everyone! I have had salad or soup before when this happens. On soup, I try to stick with broth soups and not cream. When eating salad, just ask for the dressing on the side. Or none!
