Need lunch box ideas

Last week, I worked 3 days...not usual for me because I'm retired. This next week I will be working 3 days as well. I have a hard time coming up with lunch box ideas for DDs. One thing I decided is that I need to bring plain veggies to nosh on. Other ideas?

How long is your lunch break?
Do you want hot food ideas/do you have a microwave available?
Is refrigeration an issue?

I carry thin sliced turkey and pickle spears, tuna pouch with HB eggs
That is as creative as I get for DD's.

Lunch break is an hour. Microwave is available, but I need to get out of there for my break, so I don't want to take the extra time! Refrigeration is not an issue!

I pack celery sticks and some dip/dressing.
I bring a container of cucumber salad sometimes.
Sometimes 2 wasa light crackers and a wedge of laughing cow cheese or some PB2.
I usually end up just drinking iced green tea with some lemon or a cup of coffee and eat dinner later.

If you like them...I've been finding that mushrooms are the most filling & satisfying of any raw veggie that I'll eat.

Very bulky, low in calories & pretty good protein.
Yummy with dip!!!

1lb mushrooms
100 calories
Total Carbs. 14.9g
Dietary Fiber 4.5g
Sugars 7.5g

I use the thin round sandwich buns, 25 calorie bologna and low fat (25 cal) cheese slices for a 150 cal sandwich, plus a light yogurt (80 cal) -- that's less than 250 for lunch which works for me. I do have a jar of pickles in the fridge at work for emergency noshing!!

Usually I fast on DD's lunches. But if I wake up hungry I know what kind of day I will have ahead of me with hunger issues. I usually take a can of tuna mix with a little onion, mayo and egg and that will hold me until dinner if I chose to eat it!

I keep sf bread & butter pickles in the little fridge in my office. They say 0 calories, but they don't mean for the whole jar.

I usually keep some turkey lunchmeat and laughing cow wedges. I roll them all up together for a little sandwich. Any extra hungries get more pickles.

My idea would be similar to laceylady's, (which I like very much) but would look more like a "slider" sandwich.

I use the Martin's Sliced Potato Rolls that are 90 calories each. I put 1/2 of either a salmon or tuna Chicken of the Sea "cup" container (or any 40 calories worth of salmon/tuna). Pile lettuce on, maybe add a thin slice of tomato. An exact amount of mayo - I like 1 teaspoon (1/3 Tablespoon, I explain to my online calorie counter!), and the same amount of mustard. Into a baggie, with some kind of cold-pak/insulation, and off you go.

165 calories.

With 1/3 slice of swiss sandwich cheese, 195.

Since refrigeration is no problem, here are a couple of my lunches:

1) Salad with lettuce, broccoli, cucumbers, red peppers, sesame seeds, chick peas, cold grilled chicken or tuna with low fat dressing. Small container of peanut butter or almond butter with apple slices or celery for a snack

2) Homemade chicken or tuna salad (celery, mayo, mustard, relish) with raw veggies (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower). Fruit (apple, orange, berries) as a snack

Thanks again for all the suggestions...I copied these all into a list to keep with my JUDDD ideas! Some of these I've not tried before.

Steamed cauliflower, whizzed in the blender with a bit of broth. It's like mashed potatoes. I eat it with one of those teeny cans of tuna for 140-170 cals.
I love these ideas. Thanks for the thread.

I have been trying to do 1 zone meal and 2 zone snacks (as meals) on DDs, so my meals are balanced and it helps me stay fuller longer. So a protein block, a fat block, and a carb block. I'd explain more, but if you don't do zone, it doesn't matter. It's just about trying to stay balanced for me...

Today it's leftover sliders (tiny burgers). I have 3 (about 3-4 oz meat) on 1 dinner roll, some carrot sticks, tomatoes, and fruit. The burgers were 88%, so enough fat I think. If I'm hungry, I'll add a few nuts (like 2-3).

For snacks (which are really two small "meals" on DDs), it's a greek yogurt (lots protein, no fat), 3 macadamias (for fat), and peaches. Other snack is lowfat string cheese, 6 almonds, and raspberries.

I also like to make a can of tuna (with mayo and olive oil) and eat half the can with 6 crackers and some fruit and/or veggies. I save the other half can for the next DD.

I also like a hard boiled egg, maybe a slice or two of deli meat, an ounce of soft cheese, on just a few crackers for another meal (with a side of fruit/veggies).
