Maintenance rocks

In the two weeks I've been in maintenance I've lost two more pounds. All the while eating some of my favorite foods ( still in moderation). It feels like magic but it isn't. No matter how many bounces you have, you always at the end of the day, go down. So I just wanted to send the message (as others before me have, but it can't be said enough) to be patient and follow the plan. You will be greatly rewarded in the end.: It really is as simple as being true to the rotations and your given calories(at least true for me). It may not be the fastest weight loss, but slow and steady wins the race. Better a turtle that loses and keeps it off, than a rabbit who doesn't. As I've said, I have chosen to stay at 300 for my DD. but I eat so well on UD that I've actually forgotten to finish my 300 cals on DD as I am so well stocked up from my UD. You really will find all your hard work to be more than worth it. Just remember, don't let the same bad eating choices that made you big, creep into the Juddd way of eating. Make different choices and you will get different results

I am so anxious to get to maintenance myself. I am about 12 pounds from my goal so it will be about 3 more months since I lose about 1 pound per week or less.

Once you got those numbers dialed in, you just flew with this plan! So glad you are enjoying maintenance. It just keeps getting better too. I love maintaining with this woe. I know that I can enjoy special times and vacations, and get right back into rotations and take care of any weight that might have come home with me. Weight creep is really a non-issue, because a couple of lower DD's and it's just gone.

Leonak I think when you average out the calories it takes to maintain your weight, you will find that you are eating well below those calories. I enjoy reading your posts as well. Adi you already look stunning, the weeks will fly by. Mykidsteacher, if I can ever get away on vaycay, I'll be happy to see how forgiving Juddd really is! Lol

Sometimes, my vacations happen right here at home. LOL I just eat stuff I don't normally, and dump the rotation for a time. My brain just seems to need that break every now and then. Within a week or less, I'm more than ready for a good dd and to get back into the rotation.

Great post Vanessa. I am so glad the transition to Maintenance has been easy for you, you deserve it.

I am even finding that I am enjoying JUDDD (or close to it) while in France.

Hope you get a vacation yourself real soon.

I went to several web sites about how many calories I should be eating in a day. I also averaged them all out, and the numbers were very much like what Dr. J said for me. There was less then 50 calories difference.

So for me my UD should be 1500 and DD should be 750 ( @ 50% ).

Thanks so very much for mentioning this!

I believe using these numbers I should lose 3 # a month, does that sound correct

Maybe I should stay in "Maintence Land"

Leona, yes maybe. I just moved my extra DD calories to my UD so I totally feast on UD. And because I do, DD are super easy now. I'm so well fueled from all that UD food. Sometimes I barely get in the last of my 300 calories. And I lost another half pound for a total of 2lbs lost since being in maintenance. It was amazing, I had a triple decker cashew butter and raspberry jam sandwich yesterday in maintenance. It sooo felt like cheating you are going to love maintenance!

Leonak you can do what I'm doing and do 1950 UD and 300 DD by moving all your extra calories to your UD. I have gone to 60% and moved all the extra calories to my UD. My UD are so full that I really don't even care about food for the most part on my DD. let me know if you try it and if it works as well for you. Good luck
