Has anybody tried Carb Zero bread by Julian Bakery
I'm excited and I want to try this Carb Zero bread by Julian Bakery, it say it has zero net carbs and is perfect for induction phase the ingredients are minimal with only (Purified Water, Organic Gluten Free Oat Fiber, Egg Whites, Psyllium, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Baking Soda). It would be so nice to be able have a sandwich without any guilt! It is kind of expensive 7.99 a loaf I hope its worth it. Tell me what you think about it?

I looked up the "Smart Carb bread" and it has way more ingredients in it and some of the ingredients were high carb grains. I'm big on reading the ingredients not just the nutritional facts. But I believe the product I'm talking about the Carb Zero bread is a new product and from what I can see in the ingredients in this new Carb zero bread it seem to be really zero carbs. unless there is some ingredient they are not listing it has so little in it I could probably make it myself .

Well, be sure to report back on your experience with if you decide to tryit. Always interesting to here how these product really work....or don't work... There are so many bogus claims out there for "low carb" foods.

I've tried it...
Not great on it's own. Not bad toasted with some sort of topping (cream cheese in my case!) Smells a bit weird and tastes a little like dry popcorn. It has lots of fiber - so it it useful to have some water with it to help get it down. |

I bought some locally and it was not good. Very dry. I threw it out.

Do NOTTTTT waste your hard earned money!!! Absolutely the NASTIEST bread ever made. The smell = fish guts. I figured the taste would be ok, a toasted egg salad sandwich. Um it tasted like a fishy cardboard egg salad sandwich. I have two loaves in my freezer that I know I will never ever eat. Just FOUL. I just got it coupla weeks ago. NASTAY. Honestly I dont see HOWWW they could even think its ok to sell. Seriously. Fishy grossness.

Your best bet would be to just stick with making Oopsie Rolls. These seem to have the best taste and a whole lot cheaper to make.

carb Zero bread
Carb Zero bread is not the same as Smart Carb bread.I like the Carb Zero bread toasted with good butter and Sharp Cheddar Cheese. But it is quite expensive.

Although I lose the fastest when I stick to meats, fats, veggies and berries--when in a pinch, I always rely on Elana's Pantry for Almond Flour recipes. She has a great one for low-carb bread here:
Instead of the 1 tablespoon of honey, I use sugar free maple syrup or a tablespoon of xylitol. (or, Davinci's syrup, if I have it on hand) Quote:
Also--I've tried all Julian breads. I ate the bread products for over 3 months. They taste strange and have an impossibly crumbly texture. They also halted my weight loss completely. The only reason I kept eating them is because I would add butter, cinnamon and splenda to them, which sufficed for a "dessert-like" treat each day. Nowadays, if I really need something sweet in my life, I'll eat strawberries. After staying away from bready, sugary foods (and even their low-carb counterparts), I can literally taste the sugar in things like carrots and peas. Which means when I have a fresh, in-season strawberry, it tastes like heaven. Good luck with whatever you decide! Last edited by rsmorales; 06-18-2012 at 12:41 PM.. |

Wow I think I'm going to try the Oopsie rolls first, thinking about it that bread is way too expensive plus the shipped geez!! I saw a recipe for Oopsie roles they looked good hopefully mine come out as good I tried making a sandwich wrap out of flax it didn't turn out so good.. I did make a pretty good pizza crust out of flax.

My current favorite for 'bread' is a coconut flour cheese biscuit. I bought cute little silicone molds and made mini biscuits!!

The good thing about Oopsie rolls is that you can add whatever you want to them. I make cheddar and chive and also a few sweet variations w/ cinnamon and stevia. The possibilities are endless!

I have just given up the idea of bread all together.
![]() I figure it is never going to taste like real bread so why bother? I am better off just to move on. The weight loss I have achieved makes it all worth it!

one minute muffins fit the need for me, I use coconut, flax, oat bran, nuts, coconut oil, butter, vanilla, egg with a bit of salt and baking powder. Almost good as Ezekiel bread, which was my favorite

In my neck of the woods, we have Healthy Life, which tastes really good and is 6 net carbs per slice. So, yeah, 12 net grams for a sammich is too much to spend for some, but I can get away with it. They also make wheat hamburger and hot dog buns that aren't zero carb by any means, but they are way lower than their regular white counterpart. That's what I've always used. If you are desperate for some bread, you could check out Ursula Solom. She has a low carb baking cookbook with a few bread recipes in it.

Living bread free really isn't that bad.
You can use slices of cheese or lettuce in place of it. After a while the cravings for bread stop. I have gotten so I prefer cheese burgers with out bread!

I have bought quite a bit of the 1 carb bread along with their Wonderful Bread (not LC). You can get 6 loaves for a flat rate shipping price. It's very firm but was perfect for egg-dippin' toast but was too stiff, to me , for a sandwich. I like their sourdough too but it isn't LC either. The 1 carb is high fiber.....very high fiber.

Oopsie rolls are the way to go. Very bread like, great for a hamburger or sandwich. Easy to make, they have been perfect since my first batch. They can be made into sweet rolls or pancakes very easily too. MMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The Sarah Lee 45 Calories & Delightful bread (whole wheat) only has 10 carbs for 2 slices. Not something that I eat every day, but I do use it with no problems and it tastes wonderful.
