Rubber Band Waist Extender Trick

Does anyone else do this or am I just weird? Okay, don't answer that!

I loop an elastic/cloth hair band through my button hole on my jeans, feed one end through the other, then put that loop around the button to avoid muffin-top action when I have jeans which fit everywhere but the waist.

If you haven't tried it, it really does work, but ONLY if you plan on leaving your blouse untucked!

Of course I may just have a weird shape. As I'm losing, it seems my legs and hips are getting thinner, but my waist is disproportionately large.

I totally understand! No butt, skinnier legs and hips and then there's that waist! The more I lost, the worse that got until recently, so there is hope, but my waist is still proportionally bigger that the parts below it.

Lol!!! Many times!! No shame in this if you can wear your clothes more comfortably. It's been a little while but I wear scrubs work now (elastic) so I don't have to worry about slacks being too snug anymore.

That's genius! I am definitely going to try it!

I'm basically a block - my boobs, waist and hips are barely a couple of inches apart. My current jeans which I think are 18s are getting looser and then after that I only have 14s. Not sure what I did on my way back up the scale for jeans? But when I can get those smaller sizes up, I'm going to give this a go!

Yes, Dawn, I do this also. Seems my waist and tummy are the last places to want to disappear, so I have to do something to fit into some of my pants. Haven't tucked in a shirt in years, but hope to be able to do so sometime in the future, sans the rubber band!

I used to do that way back when, when I was pregnant. I didnt want to go into maternity pants so I tried to keep mine as long as I could. But then I put on maternity pants and OMG they were comfy........I actually wore them a bit longer than I should of I ended up liking them so much lol!!!

This is exactly me as well! JUDDD btw is the only thing that has even begun to whittle down my belly.

Dawn, I had never even thought of doing something like this. Wow, I may be able to squeeze into some jeans that will look like they fit right for once (well, except at the waist)! Thanks for the tip!

I do this with elastic hair ties

And I have the same issue with not losing in my belly & waist, unfortunately...

I usually have a gapping waistband too, even before I lost my weight. But I did the rubberband/hair tie trick when pg too.

That's awesome! I never heard of that, but what a great idea. I'm going to keep that in mind for when I need to do it!!

Or take a key-chain hoop and hook it to your zipper and then put it around your button. That way your zipper doesn't fall down!

Women are getting thicker in the waist anyway, regardless of body weight - clothes manufacturers need to catch up. I have this problem even when I am thin.

Thanks for the trick. I tend to go for low rise jeans to avoid the waist pinch but then they fall down!

That's a good one. I've used a paper clip for the same purpose.

I remember doing that in early pregnancy months.
Seems like when I got heavy I just switched to stretchy pants, couldn't stand anything digging in to my waist.
Now I am cinching a belt on to keep my pants up. I broke one yesterday. Stupid cheap fake pleather belt. That was not a win!

This is brilliant - for an apple shape like me, my butt and thighs will be nonexistent but my belly will still be as big as ever. This will enable me to wear a lot things I might not normally be able to!

Yep. An apple shape here, too! Even as a 120 pounder that was a real problem for me. For the pants to fit my non-butt, they would be too tight around waist. Wish I had known about the rubberband trick when I was younger!!

Yep, the rubber band around the button was a PG solution for me, as well. Before I found JUDDD and while still gathering the pounds, I'd started wearing maternity pants -- not the one with the big square panel but the ones with the stretchy band -- wearing those to avoid buying bigger jeans. They, too, were quite comfey! They are now in the garage sale pile!!!

You know, I have considered buying maternity pants. Part of the incentive to lose, tho, is the fact that my clothes are uncomfortable. Maybe just one pair to get me through the next few months. It sure would be nice to have pants that fit, tho.

Dawn, I almost did the rubberband trick this morning. I normally wear scrubs to work but today we were to wear our commemorate polos (I work for Baptist Hosp and were celebrating 100 yrs). I didn't have any khakis that really fit me well. They were still a little snug for my liking so I opted for a pair of brown scrub pants with my polo.
