shikaki noodles and "rice"

Good morning:
I have discovered these noodles with all your recommendations....and LOVE them! I have seen some folks refer to "rice", can you tell me where I might find them?
Thanks you,
Diane

don't get the "rice" almost everyone thinks the texture is absolutely disgusting- me included. It is really little round balls of chewy slimy weirdness, not like the noodles at all.
There are rare health food stores that carry the miracle noodles and you could try a bag of the rice. YUCK. And I really like the angel hair noodles, especially the Black with sea vegetable flakes in them.

Rice some cauliflower or something and save yourself!

Netrition carries the miracle rice and I love it, too!
It's really good in soups, bulks them up and it's just more appealing (to me) in soups than the noodles are

HI Diane! Fancy meeting you here! Are you trying JUDDD now? I haven't had the "rice" yet but I think the TOFU shirataki noodles are the best I've had so far. 20 calories and 1 NC per bag, but worth it to have my noodles opaque/white rather than translucent/clear. I figure if I want them chopped into little bitty bits, my cutting board and good cleaver will do that just fine for me. I do have some of the translucent noodles as well and use those exclusively in Asian foods and tell myself they are the old bean thread noodles I used to buy and eat.

Peggy I think you'd like the rice . It's kind of like blobs of unflavored tapioca lol

I am planning on trying it next, for sure. But I just ordered a case each of the clear, spaghetti tofu and penne tofu and want to get that supply down before ordering the rice variety. Storage issues in my sized down retirement home with its small kitchen and pantry.

I got my rice through Netrition and I am ordering more! I did follow the directions and soaked it and blanched it. I actually soaked it in water with lemon added. I used it in my stuffed peppers in lieu of real rice. It really extended the meat, thus cutting calories, and it picked up the tomato flavor of the sauce. Not sure how I would like it all by its little 'ol self, but I am going to experiment more.

I like it in Amys lower sodium split pea soup. I add a packet of herb-ox no sodium chicken powder, 1 cup water and the rice and it makes a big couple of bowls of soup for around 200 calories.

Hi Buttoni! I followed you over here to JUDD! I am so happy you broke your stall; I too have finally moved down 2 lbs. I am still trying to get the calorie "thing" down, after so long focusing on carbs. I am still staying LC (although not as low). I think after 3 weeks now JUDDING, I still am going over on calories.

I haven't found the "rice" on Netrition. I have been buying the "noodles" at Safeway! Even DH likes them.

I love shiritake noodles but in the UK they don't sell the rice, I just pop it in my blender and it chops it up really small. Works for me.

I bought a case of assorted shirataki from somewhere and I love the rice to add to those low calorie Progresso soups. I cook the rice in a dry skillet to dry it out AFTER rinsing thoroughly. add some spices such as garlic, pepper etc and put it in a ziplock. Take the can and the "rice" to work and add the rice to the bowl when I microwave the soup. The whole can of soup ranges from 140-200 calories. And with the "rice" I am full for the rest of the day.

Glad you decided to come on over and give it a try, Diane! WELCOME!! This has sure shaken my metabolism up. AND I discovered the tofu shirataki noodles on this forum, which I like MUCH better than the yam tuber noodles.
