UD/DD schedule or true rotation?

Do most of you follow the true alternate day rotation as written or do you have a set schedule you follow weekly (such as M-W-F)? And do you follow it because the weight loss is better or because it fits your lifestyle better? Trying to figure this out and how it might fit better for me!! TIA!

Right now I alternate but after I reach goal I may rethink to M,W,F DDs (600) and Sunday as a medium day (900), with T,TH and S as UDs (1700), that would fit my life perfectly because M,W and F are typically my busiest days thus I'm not so focused on food.

Lately I have been having a MD every Saturday to keep the same UD/DD during the week.

I don't like it. I really prefer flowing from DD to UD with no juggling. My weight loss rate has slowed. But that may because I have to take anti-histamines if I want to survive the pollen season.

When i first started i was doing m/w/f DD's, sat MD and sun UD. I found i wasnt losing that well. It was hard to keep the MD for one thing. I think MD's are harder than DD's. And having a MD after a DD can be tough because i am usually pretty hungry after a DD. I was just having trouble losing and getting pretty frustrated even though i really liked having the set schedule. It made the work week very easy. But i decided to do the true rotation and see how that worked and it has been much better. I lost down to where im happy maintaining. Im up a little right now but that is other things going on. I also noticed i felt much better after a couple weeks doing the straight rotation. The appetite suppression really kicked in and DD's got much easier. Not saying they are always easy but my body knows whats going on i think so its easier to ignore the hunger pains even when they are pretty bad, if that makes sense. I think doing the straight rotation helped the sirt1 gene to kick in. I just feel way better doing it this way now. I dont even think about doing a MD unless i just have to change my rotation for some reason. There are some people who have great success keeping a schedule like that but it just didnt work as well for me. You just need to play with things to see what works. I would say to do the set rotation at least for the first 2 wks then go from there.

I can understand the need to hold to a schedule each week where each day is absolutely set.. every M-W-F being DDs, for example, with a MD each weekend in addition to the week's UDs. Some people's lives really do work more smoothly for them when they can control their diet levels over the course of their week's busy needs and get it all to mesh together as well as it can.

I've gone to that a time or two myself, but I strongly prefer the straight UD/DD rotation without tossing that MD into the rotation.

For myself, weight loss and maintenance are better on the straight rotation. That MD just seemed to throw a little blip into the smooth up/down piston action of the rotation, like an old motor that isn't firing on all cylinders.

For me, JUDDD works the best when I do the straight rotation.

When I was in WLM, I did not do MDs, but kept to the rotation. Somehow it worked out for me to keep that going. It helped that I didn't have far to go to get to goal, but I still wanted those first 2 weeks minimum to be on the straight rotation and to lose as fast I could. I think I was on JUDDD over a month before I had to throw in a MD, but I didn't like using those unless I had to.

UD/DD rotation here. I've only used one MD when I absolutely had to.

Is it possible that doing an MD actually confuses our bodies and the whole SIRT1 thing? Just something I've been pondering. Has anyone tried doing DD on M, W F and doing UD on Tu, Th, Sat and Sun?

For me, on a 500/2000 cal rotation, that would average out at 1357 calories a day (instead an average of 1250 calories a day on true rotation). I know the 3,500 calorie deficit = 1 pound weight loss isn't entirely accurate but an additional (average) 107 calories per day shouldn't make a whole lot of difference to how much weight you could lose over the course of a week (maybe a difference of a fifth of a pound??).

What does that pesky SIRT1 make of MDs, I wonder? "Ooh, I'm getting some calories - oh but wait, not that many after all. Hmm - better not activate..."

Don't know. Just kind of thinking out loud, I guess!

I may rethink that MD! When I've gotten down to goal I'll probably hold the UD/DD pattern but hike the DD to 700 and see what happens.

I do a true UD/DD rotation. I really like having a DD on the weekend since I can cook a delicious low calorie lunch whereas I can't do tht at work.

I love the straight rotations.

I have had a weekend of UDs and I am longing for tomorrow's DD.

True rotation here!

No MD's scheduled until a memorial day weekend wedding. Well, it may be two UD's cuz I'm not skimping at the rehersal dinner at Volt (Top Chef fans know what I'm talkin' bout, lol), and I'm definitely having a good time at the wedding.

Then, back to strict true rotation until my beach vaca in July.

I am in Maintenance and I do M/W/F DDs, T/T/S UDs and Sunday is a MD. This works wonderful for my schedule, I like the normalcy of it and it hasn't hurt my weight in maintenance at all.

In a way, I think true rotation is so much easier than trying to fit a MD in, which is also a "teaser" day to me, calorie wise.

I am thinking of dropping my DD to zero and see how that goes. Are we allowed to add our DD calories to the next UD? That would be sweet!
