Can I Have Chili on Induction?

Hi all,

I'm new to Atkins, and i'm wondering if i'm allowed to have any kind of chili on Atkins induction? If so, would anyone be able to give me a good recipe for Atkins induction chili? Slow cooker or regular would work, either or.

Depends what you put in the chili. Beans are out. I am not sure about onions. Peppers are OK. Obviously any meat is fine. Most spices are OK (watch for sugar)

Do I have a recipe. No.

Found a recipe

I found this low carb chili recipe on food.com. It looks really yummy and I think all of the ingredients are induction friendly. It has 6 net carbs per a serving. The recipe makes 8 servings total.

1 quart water
2 lbs ground beef
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cumin
1 onions, chopped
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, mashed
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon red peppers
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
3 bay leaves
1 (4 ounce) cans mushrooms ( drained)
3/4 cup chopped green peppers
Brown meat, drain off fat.
Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, then simmer 3 hours.
7- 9 carbs per serving.

You can make an induction friendly chili. The key is to limit the tomato aspect and bump up the meat. You can have peppers and a small amount of onion, that along with garlic and spices would be good enough for me! With cheese and a bit of sour cream, of course. Just play around a bit until you get the carb counts where you need them to be.

Brazos River Chili...I make this every couple weeks...it is AMAZING!

•3 pounds top sirloin, cut into 1/4-inch pieces<---Original recipe ( I actually use 3 lbs. of Grass-fed Beef instead)
•4 tablespoons bacon drippings
•4 large cloves of garlic, minced or put through a garlic press
•1 medium onion, finely chopped
•10-1/2 ounce can beef broth
•13-3/4 ounce can chicken broth
•1 cup tomato sauce
•1 teaspoon onion powder
•1 teaspoon garlic powder
•3 tablespoons chili powder
•1 tablespoons paprika
•1/2 teaspoon white pepper
•1 or 2 whole jalape˝os, seeded and halved
•3 tablespoons chili powder
•1 teaspoon ground cumin
•1 teaspoon onion powder

Brown meat and then put all the ingredients in a slow cooker...I have let it cook as little as 3 hours and as much as 24 hours.
