Need advice - feeling unwell on DD

Hi all

It was a UD yesterday and I went out to a restaurant. This morning I've woken up feeling quite unwell. Not sick, just dizzy and craving sugar. I'm not sure what to do - I just can't see myself getting through my DD. I already have it planned to do an MD on Saturday as I would like and Up day for Easter Sunday. If I made today another UD would it really stall me? Anyone have any advice?

Bev

Hi Bev,

Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well.

Honestly, I would try to make it through as a DD. Craving sugar is very different than being hungry.

As an alternate, perhaps this would work:

Wed - MD
Thur - UD
Fri - DD
Sat - MD
Sun - UD

That might mitigate the possible damage of 2 UP days in a row.

In any event ... I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks phurst_gal

yes I was thinking along the same lines as you - but was just thinking that an extra UD might be just as good as 2 extra MDs

I don't think I was clear in my OP - it's not just a sugar craving - it's dizziness as well. The craving I can handle but not the dizziness.

Especially if eating helps when you are ill, eat. Then get back on your rotation as planned as soon as you can. Breaking the rotation may slow down your weight loss a little. But getting sick can really mess up the week.

The point is, don't over eat-eat-eat. But get well. Then return to your JUDDD woe.

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

What would you eat, if today were not a DD, to alleviate the dizziness?

Another thing you might do is just eat whatever breakfast will make you feel better without going overboard on calories, then make the rest of the day a DD. I would probably "not count" those breakfast calories, then use 2/3 of my DD calories for the rest of the day. So you still get a sort of 24-hour DD from after breakfast today until you start your UD tomorrow.

I am unused to feeling dizzy at all without a very good reason. I would consider seeing a doctor.

Oh dear...just realized the time difference! You are probably well past breakfast!

Do what you need to feel better, muddle through this week as best you can, ENJOY EASTER , and look at next week as a chance to get back into the rotation!

From what I've seen on this board, no one seems to truly stall* on JUDDD. In fact, most people can't stall, even once they get to maintenance!

So please don't fret too much over an extra UD or MD every now and then!

I'd do this:

W: UD
Th: DD
F: UD
S: DD
Su: UD

So I'd do the 2 UDs in a row. I think it's the same as two MDs in a week. If you need to eat, eat! I hope you aren't coming down with something...dizzy isn't good!

I would eat, but focus on protein and good, healthy carbs--lots of veggies, only a little fruit if any at all.

Sounds like maybe some blood sugar issues to me. (not that I'm an expert). But if you had more carbs yesterday, you may have had a rebound effect that dropped your blood glucose too low, and in that case, your body is going to SHOUT for what it knows will raise those levels fast--sugar. If you can give it just a little to remove the cellular panic, and then keep it level with protein, veggie carbs and good fats, you may get through better than you think.

And if you need to make it an UD and continue the rotation tomorrow with DD. It really won't mess things up all that much.

Thanks everyone for the helpful advice. I tried to stick with the DD, but by the afternoon decided to go for the UD since I was going to have to change the rotation anyway. I'm not a low carber, but I tried to keep off sugar today. I think that's where I went wrong yesterday.

Feeling much better. I've been suffering quite a bit of brain fog recently, so I might try and get it checked out.

Just popping in here to see how you're feeling now, so I'm glad to see that you're better.

JUDDD isn't always easy to get into smoothly right at the start. Well, I guess low carb and a lot of other plans aren't either, really. LOL

Just keep at it as best you can, and if you are feeling sick-ish anymore, maybe see your doc.

PirateJenny,
This is an old post from you. But can you please explain how one can have breakfast and still go on with a DD? I would love to know why this won't stall weight loss

Jenny did a rotation based on hours, not morning-to-night.
Often she did noon-to-noon instead, so you would have no breakfast (or small) then UD lunch that day through breakfast the next day, then your DD would start at Lunch through breakfast the following day.

So can I do breakfast around 11am today, then proceed to eat my permitted 384 cals for DD until 11 am the next day when I would have an UD breakfast. Did I get it right?

That's the theory, but I think several of us found it didn't work as well as the normal rotation schedule

If I recall correctly, this plan did not yield weight loss for anyone. It really just turns out to be a whole lot of MDs and even so I don't recall anyone being successful with this schedule (MUDDD).
