Funny Shredded Wheat

So, I have been LC since December 2011. Haven't touched cereal, pasta, bread, potatoes, and all the processed crap since. Feel so good about it! I had a legitimate craving for shredded wheat. I know, totally horrible for the low carb WOE. I never crave shreded wheat...who craves that?

Anyway, yesterday, I had a very low carb day except...for dinner I had a bowl of shreded wheat with milk. I think I needed it for the fiber, because the next morning. Warning---TMI ----- I was in the bathroom for a long time. I think I lost 5lbs just from using the bathroom. I know. TMI My husband was like, "what the heck happened to you?!".....shredded wheat happened!

Craving is gone, not craving any carbs or junky sugar today, very weird.

Maybe this post was TMI for people. I just think it was interesting that I listened to a true craving, (not an emotional or stress craving), and I guess something good happened for my body.

I love shredded wheat...especially the little chocolate ones...I glad you could eat and hop right back to your woe...i probably would just keep eating til the box was gone...I think tom was probably causing cravings for you as it does with most of us...glad thing are back on track and things are moving...lol

I've always wondered if our bodies don't know deep inside them on some primal level what they need at a given moment. So your body was so desperate for fiber that it created that immense craving for shredded wheat after so long being low carb.

I remember once years ago I had an intense and desperate craving for oranges/orange juice. I think I indulged for a couple of days, and then it all went away again, completely. I always wondered if my body needed some vitamin C or some other micro-nutrient that could be provided from oranges.

I love shredded wheat but can not touch it or my blood sugar goes up to 290,,,Diabetic type 2 but I crave it I love it! It is on my never eat list again,,,,but I still love it!

LOL There are so many people who have bathroom issues here. Maybe they need shredded wheat. Not one of my favorites ever... Too much like chewing straw.

See, for me, one bowl would lead to finishing the whole box and then the next day conquering that Captain Crunch that has been taunting me for 2 mths! Ugh! Bad day, serious cravings are getting to me!

I've always found it interesting that after awhile on clean LC the things I start to crave.

Right now for me it's yogurt. It's not like I lOVED yogurt before...

Sometimes it's an apple. I lost several years off plan because of an apple and milk craving. I figured if I ate an apple and had some whole milk I should have some French fries, etc. I planned to get back on plan the next day. And here I am- 6 years later....... Finally seriously restarting.

So, good for you to have it, lose it, and move on!

Not sure about the craving, but that reaction is one some that some with gluten/wheat issues have after eating gluten.

I've had that before. I was overwhlmed with a fruit craving and ended up spending like $40 at the grocery store on all kinds of frit. ridiculous
