Can't believe it's April. Hope everybody joins me. Just getting ready for Easter around here. Doing great.

Serena - Connor's knee is good. He goes back to practice next week. Haven't tried the chips yet, but will.

Well having been on leave for a fortnight, and totally off track with the whole lc thing I am actually starting April heavier than I started in March which is not funny.
The good news is that I am back at work tomorrow so can get back in to a routine before Easter hits. Have quite a few meals to get through over the next couple of weeks with family and friends where I won't have a lot of control, so my goal is to eat as cleanly as possible at all the other times.
It is going to take me a few day to get back into ketosis and TOTM is due tomorrow as well, so the challenges are there. I really want to do this though. I go to Italy on holiday in 9 weeks time and would love to be at my 210 goal for then.

April 1st - 221.8

Hello all. I'd like to join the April challenge. I'm not sure if there are specific guidelines, but my personal challenge this month is to stay low carb with NO CHEATS the entire month. This is my first month back on a strict low carb diet. I was diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago, and have been working on getting my medical treatment/diet stabilized. I've been successful this year with that, and am now moving into the low carb & weight loss phase of my personal health plan. Today is the first day! Ultimately, I'd like to lose about 40 lbs, but want to see where I get at the end of this month to set my interim goals.

Yay, Pam, you're down to 152! That's a great motivator to start off the month.

Angie, congrats on getting down to the 209's, you are making rapid progress!

Jaqui, you can do this and be ready for a nice vacation.

Welcome to all the new joiners, this thread is great motivation and will help you stick to your plan and reach your goals.

I have good news to start the month, too--I broke into the 159's today! It's taken me so long to get out of the 160's. I am not going to set a big weight loss goal for April because I am going to have a lot of celebrations this month. Birthdays, anniversaries, possible travel. It's going to be a challenge just to stay under 160, so that will be my goal for now.

April 1 - 159.8

im now up to 165. i have TOM, could that be it? even though the last two TOMs i have lost weight and broke stalls. you think its possible that this time i am holding water weight even though it hasnt affected me in the past? frustrated because i count on TOM as being the start of a whoosh and i NEED that since i stall for 2 weeks before TOM... so im frustrated.

and its monday too just want to crawl back in bed...

asdf1234 - tom stinks. I go up and down, but find when I am strick Lcing I don't gain tons before tom. I use to gain 5lbs a month for a week, UGh....

Ok all can't believe the scale this am.....150.5. The lowest I have been doing this, yippy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now to break the 150 mark. Maybe by Friday

happy april!!

well camping was a lot of fun. i had my day of debauchery on saturday, followed by an orange and a banana sunday morning...oops. sunday night when we got home i was up to 199!!! eeek! (from 195). i guess the sort of good news is the carbos were not all that great while i was eating them...i mean they were yummy but not ******ic....so i feel like i'm okay just doing without! now to stay the course and get this crap outta me.

Pcaltman- That is wonderful 150’s! Yay!!!

Drdrew- Glad you had lots of fun! Love the picture, makes me want to pick up cooler, tent, chairs, pack for food and be on my way!!! I love to camp and I am sure that if I lose plenty I might be able to convince my hubby of going camping on Memorial Day Weekend. We’ll see.

Angie- that is great, you broke the 10’s and I know that there are lots more numbers you are going to break this month! Thank you my friend, but all of us inspire and support each other in many different ways.

Serena- Excellent news for sure! Very happy for you!

Well, it was a wonderful March; I made wonderful friends, had lots of support, and learn a lot of things from this site which helped me lose almost 15 pound in one month. Wow!
My clothes fit so much nicer. This Saturday to end the month, went to a wedding and it was so nice for my strapless bra not to roll down. I felt very comfortable, danced like I had not danced in a long time! No foot pain, knee pain, or hip pain at all!!!
Well I did ate a slice of wedding cake!!!


Like to lose 10 lbs this month!

Hello friends, it's been a bit crazy at work, so now is when I have time to post.
I'm up today .4 but I think it was the fake chicken I had to eat at burger king, since we took my son to play there, I just ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with no buns, mayo, only the meat and one slice of tomato. It tasted sooooo fake, I kind of knew something like this would happen... oh well, I will have tomorrow to fix it.
Today we went out with our group at work and while everybody was having nachos, and quesadillas and all that yummy stuff, I had my grilled chicken ceaser salad with the dressing on the side and just a tiny bit, basically just ate the chicken with a few lettuce leaves.

dr drew, did you put that picture there just to torture me?!?! i wanna go camping again so bad, im jealous!!! my 17 mth old makes it impossible- he has been an alone sleeper since practically birth- does not let me rock him to sleep and stays in his own room. so when we took a trip and stayed at a hotel, he was up ALL night because he could see us from his pack n play... so sleeping in a tent would be the same thing- unless we put him in his own pup tent!

great losses, guys! pcalt- 150, wow!!! awesome, you have gotten totally on track lately!

got some crazy weigh ins lately- so no weighing in until thursday for me!

Congrats, It'stime--down 1 in 1 day! Are you doing strict induction?

Drdrew, thanks for sharing your pic, it's lovely. Glad you had a great time, and are getting the carbs flushed back out of your system. Looks like you'll be back down in no time.

Pam--OMG 150! That is so amazing; I know you must be thrilled because what you're doing is working and you can see 149 coming!

Asdf, hormones are so frustrating, have you tried a mild diuretic, like dandelion tea or tincture? It works pretty good for me when I know I am retaining water, and it spares potassium. Also, you can try eating asparagus or spinach. Yum!

Angie, fast food contains so much sodium and who knows what else. Congrats for resisting all the munchies at work!

Angelface--You are doing the happy dance, 15 lbs. in 1 month, how great is that and doesn't it feel incredible to get rid of the pain and have your clothes fit nice! I would be dancing too.

I had the grandkids today and took them out to lunch, so I'm certain to be up tomorrow from the salt. I stayed low carb, I hope, and then took them for a nice walk. It was so beautiful today. I went back up a little past 160, but I'm not worried about it, I know if I stick to plan the weight will continue to go down gradually.

i did plan on summer being at comfortable weight so i hope i can make this possible. i hate covering up so much. my mom's side of the family has been cursed with the infamous underarm flab- i have had it since high school even not being heavy! so now that im a little older, its gotten pretty bad. annoying because i think that makes me seem heavier than i am...

Back to the number I started, so now mini goal is 205. I don't have enough pellets to complete the 20 days, so we shall see how it goes. Crossing finger I can get as low as I can and then low carb with portion control and some kind of exercise should be good to keep on losing.

Serena: I know! I felt it kind of funny even when I cut it with the knife, God only knows what it's made of! and not real chicken, horrible, no wonder why fast food is so bad for our bodies, even if they try to disguise it with "grilled and healthy" ... yeah right!

dr drew, did you put that picture there just to torture me?!?! i wanna go camping again so bad, im jealous!!! my 17 mth old makes it impossible- he has been an alone sleeper since practically birth- does not let me rock him to sleep and stays in his own room. so when we took a trip and stayed at a hotel, he was up ALL night because he could see us from his pack n play... so sleeping in a tent would be the same thing- unless we put him in his own pup tent!

got some crazy weigh ins lately- so no weighing in until thursday for me!
yeah camping with them that little is absolutely difficult!!! our youngest is 3 years old and when camping he stays up WAY TOO LATE compared to at home when we have our routine and his bed....
