I'm starting JUDDD!

Hi Folks,
You saw this coming, right?

Ok-- so I read the book last night-- skimmed some (like where he says Atkins is a Fallacy), but got through it all.

I have what I need in the house.

I just had to decide if this really was a good time to start, and if today should be UD or DD.

Today is an UD, though I'm not going to go nuts on carbs or anything.
I need Monday and Friday to be UDs, b/c I have dinner plans on Monday, and it's 1st night passover seder dinner at my family's in Montreal on Friday.

So, I put this in my calendar on my BB, which days are UD or DD. I have the calorie calculator on the Johnson site bookmarked, and I use *********.com online and on my BB to track my calories, carbs, and percentages now anyway-- no change there.

I just had a long talk with DH, who is doing well on regular LC, about why I need to try this.

He is supportive.

So-- here we go!

going to change my stats now.

Soren

Have fun with it!

And do your measurements today!!!!
I so regret not going and buying a new tape to measure when I started. you will lose serious inches even when the scale doesn't seem to be moving.

good point! I'll do that in a bit, and I think the ticker site I use has a spot to put the measurements...

if not, I recently switched to ************, because it does have the measurement record right with the weigh in every day.
and seems like there are even more foods already added accurately compared to ********* which I have used for years

Yay!!! Soren's on board!!! to the JUDD Boat!!

Remember to be really kind to yourself in the beginning! And, give this a chance to work. Some respond in days, for some it take 2 weeks and some take longer. Like Pat says, it depends on how much time your body needs to "heal" in different ways before it can let go of the weight.

You won't believe the many, many benefits of JUDDing. It goes beyond weight loss. We are all so glad to have you join in and I just know you are going to do great and be amazed!!

Oh, I have that on my BB (which is locked down by work, but I managed to get some diet trackers on there last time it was unlocked )

I'll take a look at ************, thanks for the mention!

Thanks Yam Yam (which is how a friend of mine says yum-yum when she's texting, LOL)
I really need to see some lower numbers, so I'm ok if it takes 2 weeks or a month, but I need to see something!

I'm turning 40 in November, have a big vacation planned, and don't want to be a big white blob on the beach!

Thanks folks!

So, it's about midnight, and I'm mildly freaking out about my first DD tomorrow.
watching food network while I surf probably is a bad idea

I just want to get this out there-- back when I was a teen, I did a reallly strict "crash" diet, but stretched it to 6 months. I was getting maybe 800 calories a day.
That lead to "bingeing" (and purging), but for me, a binge was 1 chocolate bar, or 1 extra chicken breast. Then I'd yak, and lose 1/2 pound a day. Totally bad, but powerful, validation. I quit the purging after maybe 6 months, but the mental state that accompanies it has been an ongoing battle my entire life.
I've had therapy, and I'm winning the battle (long story made short ).

So the idea of going to this type of calorie restriction is a HUGE leap of faith for me. Guess I'm facing this fear head on-- going without. I think sometimes its why I overdo eating in other situations-- b/c I went without for so long.

so-- I bookmarked the affirmations in the book. I know that it's just one day. I won't die. This won't hurt me. I can have a steak the very next day.
Losing weight is going to be so beneficial for me, this small sacrifice is worth it.

cya tomorrow
