2 Month Results!!

After 2 months on this wonderful WOE I have dropped 20 lbs.

with my initial loss of 10 on LC that brings my total to 30 in about 3 months.

now for my dirty little secret

I have no idea how many calories I eat on my UD. I am always very careful to stay below 500 on DD (I don't eat until dinner) but I struggle counting on UD.

I have a grazing kind of eating style and have found it very difficult to keep up with every bite I take. What I have been doing is really trying to listen to my body and only eat when i am hungry and stop before I get full.

I have only been weighing once a month because I thought the scale bouncing might make me think that this WOE didn't work but now that I know how great it is I am considering weighing more often.

Awesome results! And you're one of the lucky ones who doesn't have to count on UDs! I could easily eat twice my calories on UDs, so I have to count, but hope when I get to maintenance that I can back off a bit.

I weighed once/week for about 6 weeks, so I get what you're saying. Now I weigh daily and it doesn't bother me one bit (most of the time).

Great job and lucky you not having to count the UDs. I understand the "grazing" and sometimes do it myself-I obsessively journal everything, and sometimes it's not pretty..

Started JUDDD 10/12/11 after LC.
MAINTENANCE since 11/12/11, & have lost more weight. I shake things up all the time with my version of Pirate Jenny's MUDDD, my "Fast 5" & other IF. ...low-moderate fat....and eating "healthy" foods 75+% of the time which lets me have real life and indulgences too I've reached my goals, improved my health & appearance, and enjoy my lifetime woe!

Congratulations on being 30 pounds down! that's awesome!!!

Yesterday I did now count calories on my UD. I was kinda feeling guilty about it until I read your post! Now I feel better.

I'm pretty sure there is no way I would ever be able to eat way, way over my UD limit. Not sure. But I just don't think so. Scale was only up by point eight this morning, so I must have done ok. Sure felt freeing! And, if it works for you it works! Great job. KUTGW!!

Congratulations on your weight loss! You are having great success, and I know you are thrilled. I expect your successes to continue, so you're really going to be shopping for smaller sizes a lot, aren't you!

You certainly aren't alone when it comes to not counting the calories on your Up Days and basically doing them as Free Days. For some folks this works just fine, and gives them very reasonable weight loss.

If you are one who doesn't go overboard (very often) and aren't in danger of eating a bit more and a bit more and a little bit more.. until you aren't remotely near your UD number, it will probably be just fine.

Just also be careful that you aren't a person who doesn't remotely come close to the UD number on a pretty regular basis, and the only problem with that is that weight loss can be good to start off with, but it does nothing to goad your metabolism into top efficiency. Previous to JUDDD, some of us got to the point that we'd kept calories too low, too often, over too long a length of time, and we didn't do our metabolisms any favors.

The only need we really have about counting calories on UD is to assure we aren't too far over or too far under that number, very often, and then the other thing it does is sort of help us form an inner habit to eat at that level pretty easily, just because we have now been trained to do so. And that may be where you are already!

Pat---I will try to start paying more attention to my calorie count. I guess I have been lazy in doing that. Sometimes I envy people that post their meals for the day because I usually don't have a clue as to what i will be eating. My guesstimate would be that I probably go over my UD limit by a little bit on most days. I may be in for a big surprise Thank you for your advice.

I also do not step on the scale often as I get depressed when it is not my friend! I usually only weigh once a month, when I do hop on it can make me feel good or bad, so no more for now - just the first of each month!
