Hello and Question

Hi Everyone,

I'm a new JUDD'er and just wanted to say "Hello". I started two weeks ago and am down 7 lbs. I have a lot to lose, but am patient as long as I feel good and the loss is steady overall.

I'm wondering if anyone has a good weight tracking website to recommend. I was tracking on fatsecret, but thought there might be something better out there.

Thanks everyone. And thanks for all of the wonderfully supportive posts and information. I've been lurking for the past couple of weeks and have found your posts to be really helpful AND motivating!

I'm using fitday - I like the goal chart and actual weight chart feature of it. But I can't compare it to fatsecret since I've never used it. GL!

Betty! Congrats on your losses so far!

I used Fitday, but I understand it is more "primitive" than some of the others. It was what I was used to from years back and was familiar with.
Started JUDDD 10/12/11 after LC.
MAINTENANCE since 11/12/11, & have lost more weight. I shake things up all the time with my version of Pirate Jenny's MUDDD, my "Fast 5" & other IF. ...low-moderate fat....and eating "healthy" foods 75+% of the time which lets me have real life and indulgences too I've reached my goals, improved my health & appearance, and enjoy my lifetime woe!

I use myfitnesspal. I love all the options it has, and there are several of us here who are there as well. There's a handy app for your smartphone which allows you to scan items to add to your menu. I use that a LOT.

JUDDD got me where I want to be!

Happy to have you with us!! I use myfitnesspal.com on my iPhone. I love being able to go in and search for anything I'm eating at the moment and record the calories. Also, you can scan a barcode on any food and it will automatically come up.
You will enjoy JUDDD!! BEST WOE EVER!!

I use myfitnesspal, and it is amazing - you can ask it to search for chicken salad, and it will give you all kinds of choices to choose that matches your meal and automatically gives you the calories - you can search anything and get the calorie choice, and I really like that. I'm sure the others do the same thing, but this is the only one I have used, and I like it so much that I'll stick with that --

to JUDDD - I'm also a newbie to this WOE, and I love it!!!

Stay Focused - you will only go as far as your discipline will take you!!

I use Sparkpeople, it has a good interface, lots of info and a good app.

I've started using myfitnesspal some, but I find it lacking a "map my route" feature, where you can input your walking route and time it took and it calculates the speed and calories burned. Sparkpeople has this and I love it.

I also can't find a way to put any info into myfitnesspal about the weight I've already lost. It's assuming I started at 186 and darn it, I've worked hard to see those big losses on the ticker and I just can't get it to do it. Sparkpeople also lets me do this, so I'm kinda spoiled.

I will admit that the foods database on myfitnesspal is better. Lots. So I'm kinda using both right now and tracking stuff in an Excel file. Probably takes waaaaay more time than it needs to, but it's working for me.

I am another MyFitnessPal lover!

However, if you're just interested in a weight tracker, I really like TargetWeight...it's a phone app. I like it because it shows me a graph and my stats for the past week, month, 3 months, or from the start of your TargetWeight account. You can set goals and it shows you how many days and pounds you have to go to your goal. It shows your BMI, and shows it to you as a graph. You can always go back and check your previous weights by date, and change them if you need to or go back and add a weight if you forgot to enter it one day. AND, you can password protect it if you want so that your kids (my kids, lol), can't get on and check out mom's weigh-ins.

You know the laws of dieting. All gains are water weight. All losses are of fat! --SoHappy
