Share your mantra!

What do you tell yourself on a daily basis? In yoga some teachers want you to repeat a word or phrase to be mindful of what you are doing for yourself. Maybe words like strength, forgiveness or beauty. Sometimes I worry that my body isn't going to lose the weight, maybe I will be stuck in the 190's forever. I often have to kick myself in gear to not go down the bad path of unhealthy eating. Do you have any mantras that you repeat to yourself? Sometimes I say to myself, one meal at a time, keep it simple, or just--- I can do this! Please share any mantras that help you on your weight loss/healthy life journey?

mine are in my signature...but here are a few more aquired from people on the boards so I take no credit
don't worry about anything, pray about everything.

nothing tastes as good as thin feels.

crisis is composed of 2 elements...danger and opportunity...we chose which to embrace
focus on what you can have and not what you can't.

and ...it takes 4 weeks for you to notice your body changing...8 weeks for friends to notice...and 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice...Don't Quit! It's just a delay in perception.

Mine's in my sig: (life in general, not just dieting)

Over-complication leads to frustration; leads to failure. Don't over-complicate things.

Good thread!

My simple ones are- 'No Excuses, Just Results'
And- 'Don't Wish For It, Work For It' (I seen this on a tshirt that someone was wearing at a sporting event and loved it).

On fb recently, I seen 'If You Knew How Powerful Your Thoughts Are, You Would Never Think A Negative Thought Again'. Wow, powerful! ... especially for negative self-talkers (I once was).

Well, I didn't have one, but I'm going to pick one lol....a useful thing, for sure....

Naturally healthy and fit

That's it....I feel that way now and it has taken a long time to get here....I don't want to lose that, especially as I age.....

I'm also going to smile and feel it every time I say it. It's so important not to take things for granted, I'm learning.

That's a great one. So happy that you are saying it and living it.

Thank you for sharing, because that is a wonderful question that I should be asking myself each day. I can say yes too.

It takes 3 weeks to make or break a habit

Is perpetual moments of self-gratification worth a lifetime of unhappiness

When the mountain seems high, look behind you and see how far you've already climbed. Not my mantra, but something to remember.

I think I need a mantra.

I got this from someone on this board.

I can't control how much I lose or how fast I lose. I can only control what I put in my mouth.

When I only see " a solid brick wall" in my mind I say: This too shall pass.

The only thing we can count on is change. And change is usually a blessing in the long run, even if it doesn't initially look or seem to be at the time.

Blessings everyone

Life is Today.

I think many of us, myself included, get caught up in "when we reach goal weight" -- or when I reach a goal in my career, etc...

I have to keep myself in check from always being in a hurry (to what end?) -- and remind myself that right now, today, is my life, and I need to savor each moment and live in the now.

What works best for me in carb rich environments is "Just stay on plan". I tell myself that to remind myself that it's not about NOT having a good time or enjoying yourself... you still can and should have a good time and enjoy yourself... but ON plan. This forces me to find a solution. Because you can... if you want to
