Today is a DD for me also.
I find that when I get cold, I get up a clean or rebound a bit. Also, I drink hot tea all day. It seems to help!

Congratulations Kimberly! Those sirtuin enzymes are really kicking in!

It does not happen to everyone. But if it does, it usually keeps happening. I depend on hot flavored teas. Lots and lots of hot tea.

I go through those days and there is no way I can ever get warm. But it is just part of losing so I can't complain.

Yep, I freeze on DD's too. Exercise helps for a little while. Hot tea, broth, layers and layers and layers of clothes.

I found this interesting. It is what Doctor Berardi says in his e-book about being cold when he was experimenting w/ IF and having great success:

Body Temperature and Cold Extremities
Beyond the breakfast transition I had to go through – which might be minimized with
the slow adjustment period Krista recommends – each morning I’d get colder and
colder as the fast extended, especially in my hands and feet. Even in the sunshine,
while drinking hot green tea, I’d be shivering. It wasn’t terrible, but it was annoying.
I verified this same pattern in two different clients who also tried this IF approach.
Interestingly, I didn’t experience this same effect with the full day fasts. (* which he only did one day per week and maybe that's why?-YY)
Some speculate I should be thankful for the cold extremities, as fasting may increase
blood flow to adipose cells, helping them release fatty acids for eventual burning.
Because of this, it may also cause vasoconstriction of the peripheral vasculature,
namely fingers and toes. If this is true, I guess a little extra fat loss is worth the
shivering.

I am also usually freezing on DD's. Drinking hot chicken or beef broth really helps. I think im gonna make me some now...lol I drink a ton of water too on DD's and its usually cold so that doesnt help matters much but even when i dont im cold.
Yam Yam i like what you posted. Hopefully im losing some fat!!!!

I have not experienced the coldness a lot. A few times early in the day on a DD I have and I've had to either turn on my fireplace, even though the room temperature said 75! Or I've had to put on a sweat shirt and wool sox and get my body moving.

I have read that taking in more fluids, even ice water which sounds counter intuitive, causes your body to warm up because it increases blood flow and volume. So, drink up!

OR we could all sit in a bucket of ice water! Did you notice that they do it on the Biggest Loser show to speed up fat loss? They sit in a big tin bucket of ice cold water for about 20 minutes a day.

The guy who wrote "The Four Hour Body" is a big proponent of this and he sits in a cold bath once a day. Brrrrr. Dr. Oz has done it on his show and talked about the fat burning benefits and even Dr. Dukan mentions it in his book. Although he says you don't have to use freezing water. He says 77 degrees is cold enough.

I never have been able to do it. But I did notice in the fall last year when I did water aerobics in a cool swimming pool a few times a week, I was losing pounds and inches and getting leaner.

So, I'm thinking, cold is good, right?

Here's another thread you might find helpful, too - and yep, it is completely normal! I struggle with this more than with the actual hunger, but I know it means something is working, so I am willing to put up with it!

During fasting, I would be cold, so this part didn't surprise me. Today, on a DD, I am under 2 blankets and my kid just turned on the air conditioner because she is hot. Yesterday on an UD and moving furniture, I was covered in sweat with all the fans on full and my DD was under blankets because I was freezing her. Our bodies do weird things.

This is good to know - I'm on my first DD and was a big chilly today too; as long as I know it's a normal reaction, I'm fine with it, thanks!!

I also read somewhere to take a cold shower in the mornings and then turn it to hot and then back to cold a couple times and it helps to burn calories. I tried it and could not do it!!! I have to have my hot shower. It wasnt worth it and i didnt notice a difference. I have also heard about drinking cold water raising metabolism and putting cayenne in your food. Who knows. I always eat a lot of hot food and drink cold water and havent noticed a difference there but boy i do sometimes hate the cold on DD's!!!
