My body, my science experiment

First, I'll just mention that I finally stepped on the scale (after an up day!) and I'm down 5 pounds in two weeks. Yay! I'm thrilled!

I have been having problems with hunger on the DDs. So I decided to try front-loading my calories and have 500 calories and 50 grams of protein for breakfast and then nothing else all day. I had three eggs and a small skinless, boneless chicken breast, a little salsa, and some homemade low-calorie vegetable soup.

It's now noon here and I'm still not hungry. I'm pretty sure by 4:00pm I'll be hungry, but at least I won't have been hungry all day!

I should mention that I'm always hungry in the mornings. I'm not one of those people who can't face breakfast. I love breakfast! So the front-loading with protein might not work for those folks who can't bear to eat til noon. But I thought I'd share that the 50 grams of protein for breakfast seems like a winner for me.

That is a neat way to do things! I'm glad you found what is working for you! I used to be starving in the am, but with JUDDD I find that I am not!

Congrats on the weight loss!

I am a front loader also! It definitely keeps me comfortable on down day. I will have 50 gms protein and I alternate between eggs/turkey bacon or chicken breast. Then at 4:30 or 5, I will have salad, if I think I need something to keep me on track. Sometimes I skip the salad.

Isn't it great when scientific experimentation produces happy results!

I will keep that in mind for the infrequent mornings when my bod thinks it is hungry.

Congrats on the loss and finding your "fit" in this WOE!!

It's funny, but if I eat anything first thing in the morning I am shoveling food into my mouth all day long. If I wait to eat around lunch time I can eat lunch and go the rest of the afternoon without a thought for food.

I always find it so amazing how different we all are!

Thanks, you guys! It is amazing how different every human being is. And my update: it's 2:40PM and I'm still not hungry. I know that's fascinating.

Same here--I have to hold off as long as possible on my DDs, because as soon as I eat, I'm starving the rest of the day!

I'm a "front-loader" also. I love breakfast and lunch and usually have a small, early dinner - even on UDs. I'm just not noshy in the evenings, but I could eat a cow in the morning whether I'm hungry or not! Supposedly, that is the way you are "supposed" to eat (I've been told by dietitians and others in the biz that you burn more cals in the morning, so for example, if you were going to eat 1500 cals to lose weight, you'd do a 600 cal breakfast, a 500 lunch, and a 400 dinner.)

That being said - many people don't eat like that and they do great. I say, do whatever works! I'm glad you found what works for you!
