Newbie Question

I have just started JUDDD and was wondering what everyone does at the weekend.....I assume it is best to alternate always rather than doing 2 UDs at the weekend and then going back to alternating? I am not sure I can make a DD at the weekend!

I didn't think I could either, but it's been fine. Ideally, you would keep to the alternations of UD/DD repeat. Some people do a Mid Day (average of your UD/DD calories) on one of the days, then have their scheduled DDs always fall on the same day of the week. That's not recommended until you've at least given the SIRT1 time to build up, 2 weeks to a month.

WOE: JUDDD/PHD, LC now that my BG is getting weird
Start Date: JUDDD 1/1/12 + LCHF 12/1/13 (controlling diabetes)
Looking back, I usually do either two UDs or a UD and a MD on the weekend. And I lose each week.

But I lose faster if I just keep the rotation going. For my metabolism, I am beginning to think of breaking the rotation as being the waste of a perfectly good DD - cleaning up from my excesses .

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

Yes, it is the best plan, but as we all know, life happens. JUDDD is one of the few ways of losing weight that is incredibly forgiving...

Oh yest, JUDDD is forgiving. I only did a MD once for a banquet and it confused me so much I just keep the UD and DD rotation going. Not going to do another MD for any reason. I could have just fasted all day and eaten small portions at the banquet and been just fine. That will be my plan for the next banquet that comes up.

Another great thing to remember is the DD WLM range is 20%-45%.

My 20% is about 350 and my 35% is over 650. I kept my last dinner out a DD and had 700 calories for the day and felt pretty good about it.

So, you don't have to mess up the rotation if you can be really careful with the calorie count.

I have it easier than most, since DH and I JUDDD together and we have no little kids to think about...but we do DDs on weekends and it works out okay. I even have a potluck every Sunday and half the time don't eat or eat very lightly when I'm on a DD.

I am now doing an experiment with MDs, using one for Sunday only and keeping to M/W/F for DDs and T/T/S for UDs, BUT I am in maintenance and have been for 5 months now. I only have one week of this under my belt and will be keeping an eye on it to see what it does to my weight, if anything.

I, too, do not recommend doing this until you get use to the DD/UD rotation, know the foods that work best for you and give it at least 1 month for the JUDDD magic to start to work.

Thanks for the replies! I had 2 UDs at the weekend but have still lost weight! It does sound like a rotation would be best...... Maybe I will keep my calories for the evening. I really like JUDDD!
