Hi Cindy - welcome back!

See this link http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/ju...nside-see.html

JUDDD is not a low carb diet (although some do combine Low Carb with it). It is a calorie cycling diet - one day of 'maintenance' calories (so for me 2100 cals) an Up Day (UD) - the next day is a Down Day (DD) where you eat between 20 and 35% of your calories (so for me at 20%, I eat 420cals - or less - but others eat 700-800 cals on their DD).

A lot of us are having great success on this WOE - and you shouldn't be frightened of the DD numbers - or the fact that you can eat carbs!

Good luck with your journey!

I love the flexibility of JUDDD. Example - today I am going to vend at a craft show. Normally LC'ing I would have to pack my own food and smell all of the delicious food from the lunch being served but could not eat it. Today I have a lunch ticket already for the German Women's Convention. The menu was very carb heavy but I am eating a light breakfast to make room calorie wise for it. Can't wait to try "real" south central Texas German cooking.

I started JUDDD using 500 calories in the form of shakes. That way there is no problem sticking to 500 calories. Nothing to think about or plan. Just sip shakes all day.

Hope you join us and good luck in your weightloss journey.

Hi Cindy!

Do come often to the JUDD forum and read, read, read. JUDD BUDDS are the best! It's like a family here.

In addition to checking out the link to find out more about this WOE you might want to read Dr. Johnson's book and definitely go to his web site to calculate your UD and DD calories.

The book is called "The Alternate Day Diet" and I got a lot out of it. It motivated me especially to find out how DDs stimulate the SIRT1 gene, producing a special protein that trains your body to sluff off extra calories instead of storing them as fat.

Good luck on your journey !

A little different area but the German lunch was DELICIOUS and I enjoyed it immensely. Could not have done that on LC.
