Supplements question

Did you modify what supplements you take in any way when starting JUDDD? Right now I'm only taking multivitamin, krill oil, biotin & vitamin D. I always intend to take calcium & more vitamin D at night but I never remember.

I used to take 5-HTP but it got outrageously priced locally, and I want to try L-Tyrosine based on my results from The Diet Cure book.

The only ones I take regularly are Magnesium Citrate and St John's Wort. I need to get some Biotin but I keep forgetting to when I go to the health food store. My dh takes more supplements than I do. He takes them on the recommendation of his acupuncturist to complement his treatments for chronic pain.

All I take is a multi-vitamin, and I only started taking that when I started JUDDD.

I take vitamins -used to take them daily but stopped a while ago. On DD's especially they make me EXTREMELY nauseous!! Does this happen to anyone else?

I take with lunch-
Calcium with Vit. D
Krill Oil
Biotin
B- Complex
Vitamin C

at night before bed I take Magnesium and 5-HTP

anyone know why or which vitamins would make me nauseous during the day??

I take a multi, a lot of D3, krill oil, CQ10, vit C. Sometimes I add in coconut oil (on UD), vit E, Calcium, and fish oil (I usually eat fish instead). Have not changed that pattern in years.

Truffles, I tried Biotin because since menopause my hair keeps breaking/falling. It made me very sick to my tummy. That is only thing can offer towards your mystery.

I take quite a few and they dont seem to bother me on UD or DD.

AM
multi
biotin
calcium
fish oil
flax oil, this one has multiple oils
vitamin e
vitamin d
glucossaman (sp)
super b complex

PM
magnisium, the one i have is oxide adn i need to the citrate or any of the ones with the ATE at then end

I forget to take them on the weekends most of the time but on the weekdays its been part of my routine and i take them whether its an UD or DD but i do have some psyllium in the morning on DD's. Maybe this helps my body to think it has something on it?

Multi-vitamins in particular nauseate me too, if I take them without enough food in my stomach. I used a powdered multi for a while that I made a protein shake out of. That did not upset my stomach, even though it had iron in it. Some people say it's the iron in the multi that upsets the stomach, but my experience didn't indicate that. I don't do the powder anymore, so try to take my multi pill after dinner now. My other vitamins/sups I can take any time with no stomach issues.

I dissolve the magnesium tablets and the multi-vit/mins in water so that they don't bother my stomach.

I take far, far fewer supplements these days than I used to, but do take 5000 units of vitamin D3, and an occasional multi for seniors.

But, I am one who eats a HUGE variety of foods.. vegetables, including the starchy ones, fruits, seeds and nuts, lots of kinds of grains too, meats including wild game, fresh and saltwater fish and shellfish, dairy, etc. even sea veggies, teas, etc. I should be pretty full to the brim with micro nutrients from foods. For the most part, I avoid soy and high fructose corn syrup, but those two are about the only things I try to exclude from my diet.

Last week I made a list of the veggies & fruits I included in our meals, and it came to 25 different things. Not counting the grains, nuts, teas, and spices/condiments, and many of those foods I served more than a single time.

I don't have anything against supplements, but I prefer to (hope) that I more than cover my bases with foods. And that in addition to the basic nutrients in the pills, I am also getting other necessary and healthful atoms of stuff they haven't even discovered yet.

I hold off on taking mine until I start eating on my DD...usually around noon, because of nausea, too.

I take the same supplements (A LOT) that I always did. I'm always adding or subtracting one or two. I've been taking some for years though because of psoriasis. I notice a difference in my skin and immunity when I don't take them.

I also want to put a plug into swansonsvitamins.com. Honestly, I have been ordering from them for over 4 years (almost 5 now) and they are fantastic. Customer service and prices can't be beat.

Just noticed that some of my supplements, like coQ10 and fishoil list their calories. Do you add those calories into your DD and UD or just forget about them, or just take those with listed calories on UD's?
