Coconut BUTTER!!!

OMG, has anyone else found this product? It is fantastic!! I just bought 2 but thinking I will be back for more....

Looks interesting.
How is it different than coconut oil?
Where do you get it?
I have tried to add coconut oil to my diet
but just can't take it.
It makes me feel a little sick.
Perhaps this product will agree with me.
Do you use it like butter?

The picture is of a single serving. You 'knead it, squeeze it, enjoy'. It tastes sweet and really smooth and would be ideal for a snack. I found it at an independent grocery store but have since found that it can be bought on line. I am ordering 5 jars. The stuff is that good.

I have had a jar of it I got at a natural foods store in the area last year. I wish I had it in a bag....would be easier to soften up!!

Wait a min., are you eating this as a straight up consumable? Like stand alone? Or are you putting this on top of something else? By itself, I'd have to say I'm a little skeeved.

I've used coconut oil in cooking but more so as an atopic application, and the same with coco butter. It melts at body temperature so it's lovely in skin care. I just don't know what you'd eat the butter with. Do tell, I'm seriously curious! I'm open to trying new stuff, but I've never, for example, just eaten bacon grease with a spoon, as much as I adore bacon.

Peachy--it is just like peanut butter or almond butter. In other words--yummo!! You should try it!!! I do eat coconut oil off the spoon, have eaten bacon grease off the spoon too but not with any regularity though. I like coconut butter just as well.

Geez, I've got 4 jars of coconut oil and an entire bag of coco butter in my crafts room. I use it for bath and body formulations. The oil, I use occasionally for cooking since it is food grade. It never crossed my mind to actually EAT the butter though. I don't know if I'd risk it with what I have, since I'm not sure it's safe for consumption, but I may have to keep any eye out for edible stuff in my local stores, so I can try it. I'll admit, what I have certainly SMELLS edible!

Coconut butter and cocoa butter are 2 different things. Although I do have cocoa butter that I intend to make chocolate with.....eventually. And I use coconut oil all over my body--on my face, my feet, my lips, even my hair! But I love to ingest it also. I am sure it has kept up my immunity while I was a pre-school teacher years back when I was wiping one yr old's butts and noses all day long. Didn't get sick, like they all were that couple of years. It was the best thing going to avoid the ickies! I love coconut oil, and coconut butter!

With my first taste, that was a thought that occurred to me! The single serving package was just enough and since buying a jar, it is no issue for me. It is just novel at the moment.

I am going back today to get the single serve packages as they will be great for travel.

I make my own coconut butter (it's a matter of grinding unsweetened coconut flakes in the food processor with a little coconut oil for a LONG time) because it's WAY cheaper.

Lately I've been making a decadent dessert! I melt 1-2 Tbsp of coconut butter with 1 tbsp real butter and 1 sq of high % cacao chocolate (not induction friendly but you could use cocoa powder and stevia instead). YUM! It hits the spot when everyone else is having ice cream or other tempting sweets.

Definitely going to check this out. They also seem to make a cacao (sp?) bliss that is 8g carb and 3g fiber. I bet it tastes awesome!!

I just picked up a packet of this at the Health Food store on Saturday. They also had packets of Almond Butter and some other butter.

They weren't cheap, but thought they would be great to travel with or leave at my desk at work for emergency snacks. I only picked up Coconut and one Almond to try for now, but if they are good I'll be back for more.

I didn't think to look if they had more than the single serving size of the Coconut Butter.

Here's something I eat every now and then:

Coconut butter (2 tablespoons)
Juice from 1/4 lemon or lemon flavoring
1 packet of sweetener or 1 serving of sugar free syrup
1 serving of whey protein powder (vanilla or plain)

Microwave 30 seconds, stir, and eat. Lemony and coconutty!

I LOVE coconut butter!

I bring the jar to melting temp in a hot water bath, stir it to combine.

I put 1 tbs of it in a mini muffin tin and let it reset. I then pop it out and put it in a baggie. It's cold here in Colorado, so it stays hard.

This way, I have 1 tbs ready at any time. It feels like a little cookie and it's so yummy. Rich and filling.

I'm with you. I'm curious, I'm open, and interested, but it doesn't sound like something I'd just slurp straight from the bag unless...I'm misunderstanding what it actually is.

Do you eat peanut butter with a spoon? Same thing (only richer). If you're not into peanut butter on a spoon this may not be for you.

OMG, you are a genius! I stole your idea and pulled out a plastic candy mold. I melted a square of 85% chocolate and drizzled it over the candy mold and then filled the mold with melted coconut butter. Then I chilled it in the freezer until solid. Yum!!! It is like a cookie--awesome!! Thank you for the great idea!
