It just gets better and better!

I'm now in my fifth week of JUDD - I thought it was the 4th, but realized I'd got it wrong because I only weighed myself for the first time after 1 week . It's got so much easier already. I keep forgetting about food until the afternoon on DDs and on UDs I'm having breakfast and then forgetting to eat untill the afternoon. This is very good for me, because I had developed a real fear of getting hungry. I've lost 11lbs, so I'm pretty happy, especially as my UDs last week were all a little crazy. I just felt I had to let myself eat whatever I felt like. I plan to get more healthy once I'm ready!

I feel, for the first time in years, that I can really do this and I'm spurred on by the success of others on this forum.

Started JUDDD 10/12/11 after LC.
MAINTENANCE since 11/12/11, & have lost more weight. I shake things up all the time with my version of Pirate Jenny's MUDDD, my "Fast 5" & other IF. ...low-moderate fat....and eating "healthy" foods 75+% of the time which lets me have real life and indulgences too I've reached my goals, improved my health & appearance, and enjoy my lifetime woe!

Loved reading your happy post and want to give you a huge CONGRATULATIONS on that nice weight loss that accompanied your return to a much broader menu of delicious foods you've been enjoying! Isn't it wonderful?!!!

It's strange to see that so often, once a person has started adding some carbs back into their diet, their long-stalled weight loss starts up again quite happily. And that people can lose weight quite easily while they include carbs in their daily diet as well. Enjoy having it all on JUDDD while you're losing weight.

Great job! I agree with you that it is getting easier and easier!

I would have quit any other "diet" by now. So sustainable and I love that I am no longer cutting entire food groups out.

I know. That never made a whole lot of sense to me either. But I think because of when I grew up, so many decades ago.

We ate all food groups, and mothers tried to fix *well balanced* meals and hardly anyone was fat. Now we're all fat and deciding we have to cut out almost an entire section of our macro-nutrient foods. That doesn't make sense to me, regardless that I read over and over again that it's all poison. Once I started eating from all the groups again, weight loss started right up and continued happily.

And maintenance is an absolute DELIGHT on JUDDD, as you don't have to hold to as low of DDs, so all of your days can include delicious foods and delightful meals.

Since this way of eating isn't so completely restrictive forever, it's a perfect way for me to enjoy my maintenance, my life. Love it. The rest were like being on a diet. This one isn't.

Yes! In maintenance I've been able to raise my DD calories. In WLM, I tried to hold them around 500, though sometimes they went up a hundred or two more. Now that I have better appetite suppression and no longer usually snack, I am able to eat a lot of the things I have on UDs, just less of them.

Today I had a burrito, just less beefy burrito than the one on last night's FD, and used less sour cream, cheese, and beans, but it was still as tasty.

All the books, all the reading I did regarding low carb. It's hard not to erase something you felt so passionately about before. I completely agree with you Pat, love it!!! LOVE IT! I feel like I am enjoying food again! No guilt, no pressure, no crankiness at "blowing my diet, yet again". It is total freedom! Can't wait to get to maintenance! Can't wait to be under 160!

Wow! Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement! You guys who are at maintenance are so inspiring. I fully intend to be one of you pretty soon. As I said to a friend of mine earlier today. I will NOT be sitting here this time next year talking about what diet I'm going to try - I will already be where I want to be!

Woke up today for my weekly weigh thinking if I've lost, it'll be a miracle because I ate over my calculated amount on all the UDs this week. Well, a miracle did happen I lost another 2 lbs! Going to reign it back in this week, but still amazed!
