WOE: one toe into starting JUDD

Messed up DD

Hi, there. Still new and just finished induction doing a good job on mostly 500 calorie DDs. I saw losses w/ the tape measure and got more energy to begin exercising (I've started lap swimming again).

Today was my first DD post induction, and I had slept poorly the night before. I started the day late and somehow got out of hand with the calories, so decided to make it a MD and ate a little more. Calories stayed at a MD level, but I don't feel ready to make it a DD again yet tomorrow, so will do my UD as planned.

Just wanted a bit of feedback, anyone's personal experiences, etc. I'm not upset about it. I did the best I could. and didn't eat unhealthily.

I don't watch Dr. Oz a lot, but one thing that he says that I love is that when you make a wrong turn, it's no big deal, just turn around and get back on the right path. So today, you are back on the program, you seem to understand what went wrong and next time you'll be ready. That sounds like a good job to me.

I agree with everyone, Make today an UD and keep to eating clean and just work on getting the calories in so that tomorrows DD is much easier. If you didn't get enough calories on your UD prior is when you struggle on your DD.

It's amazing how forgiving JUDDD is, and as everyone else has said, it happens to all of us at one time or another. Step right back up to the plate today, stick with the plan, and it will all work out - remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint!

You are all amazing. Thanks so much for the support. I didn't sleep well the night before the problem (and I agree- a minor problem. Only reason I asked is that I'm a newbie and trying to figure out how to handle these things). I was new to DDs over 500 cals, and got over confident that I could work it out as the day progressed, then found that I was low on calories for dinner and didn't eat enough protein to carry me through the evening. Next DD, I will PLAN what my calories should be per meal. That should keep me on track! The other thing I did that added to the problem, perhaps is that I went lap swimming. It might be better to do strenuous exercise on UD's, I think.

Just want to report that I realized half way through the day today, that it actually COULD have been a DD, my appetite has lessened- YAY!! I did do the UD as planned, though, because I have some events coming up that I want to fall on UDs, and they will as long as I continue my every other day rotation.

Started JUDDD 10/12/11 after LC.
MAINTENANCE since 11/12/11, & have lost more weight. I shake things up all the time with my version of Pirate Jenny's MUDDD, my "Fast 5" & other IF. ...low-moderate fat....and eating "healthy" foods 75+% of the time which lets me have real life and indulgences too I've reached my goals, improved my health & appearance, and enjoy my lifetime woe!

YAY indeed! Especially on the appetite supression, I don't think a plan exists that will do that for me LOL. Well done looking at how you'll handle the planning!!
