Crystal Light?

How much is too much or should it be avoided? I get very tired of plain water and really miss my morning juice. I really like the Sunrise Classic Orange flavor in the morning...

I'm not sure how much is too much, I wonder that too....

What I do is use the individual serving packs, and use half a packet in 16 oz of water....I allow myself 4 servings of that a day (which equals 2 packets) and make sure I have at least as much plain water in addition.

I use 2-4 of the 16 oz serving ones daily. Each morning I use 2 in my 32oz water jug. Sometimes I will drink that again in the afternoon but most often I don't. I drink a gallon of water daily of which 32-48 oz is mixed with Crystal Light

That's exactly what I did this morning...put 2 packets in my 32 oz water jug. Sure was easy drinking that 32 oz! I find drinking enough water is the most difficult thing for me. Must drink MORE!

Thanks for the replies

So glad you posted this question. I hate drinking water!!

I would have never thought of crystal light.
Anyway, Crystal Light is on the grocery list. What a great ideal, thanks everyone.

I have to avoid aspartame, but Hansen's makes a great version that I like...and it's with Splenda.

I had to cut down on my Crystal Light intake, because the carbs were really starting to add up. While the carbs in one serving are negligible (about half a gram per serving), those added up quickly when I was drinking it pretty much all day, as a replacement for water. Now I just add a little bit of the powder into a big jug of water, so I have *some* flavor, because I really can't stand plain water.

I love this thread...I am glad to hear not everyone loves their water...I just can't carry it around by the bottle and drink it...it makes me feel more thirsty and even gives me heartburn...If I add something to it I have no issues...so I am always drinking tea, coffee, drink mixes or soda.

Sliced cucumbers add some nice, fresh flavor to water. You could also try to drink iced tea made from different flavors, like raspberry, mint and pear. The flavors are fun to mix and match. Iced tea keeps me sane.

I also hate water and I force myself to drink a 20 oz. glass every morning. I usually have a diet root beer for lunch and then crystal light the rest of the day and evening. It doesn't affect my weight loss at all. What really affects me is if I eat too much food(calories) in a day, even staying under my 20 carb limit.

The Mio flavor drops that you add to water are pretty good, and use sucralose inst. of aspartame. I like that you can add just a hint or a lot of flavor.

I cannot figure this out and it sounds really weird, but I just love Crystal Light and I would really drink a lot of it if I could. But I swear it gives me a sore throat. Every once in a while, my throat will start getting sore and I cut way back on the Crystal Light and I'm okay again.

I feared I was becoming addicted to Sunrise and was over using it. I made a decision to give up all artificial sweeteners and now use only liquid stevia.

To satisfy my craving for flavored water, I now use lemon juice or ACV with a few drops of stevia. I sometimes add some hibiscus tea extract for even more flavor.

The hibiscus tea extract can be squirted right into cold water on its own for a healthy refreshing drink.

I don't care for plain water and wasn't drinking enough. Then I discovered two items that have really helped. True Lemon/ Lime/ Orange (well, I guess that is three! ) and SF Jose Cuervo Margarita mixer. I like citrusy flavoured water just fine. One or two packages of True will flavour a pint of water with just a hint of flavour and 2 Tbs. of the Jose Cuervo adds a nice tart lemon-y punch to a pint. All are 0 cal and the Jose Cuervo uses sucralose. I don't use much because I only need a hint of flavour, but these amounts could be doubled for those wanting more.

I drink the Walmart house brand a couple times a week, I love the orange too. I like to put a few hibiscus flowers, a grean tea bag, cucumber slices, or a couple chunks of cantaloupe in my water bottle and keep refilling it for the day it imparts a wonder flavor if I want a bit of sweet I add a drop of stevia or liquid sucralose. I'm not crazy about lemon or lime in plain water but I make lemonade or limeade once in a while.

I worried I was drinking too much, so I started putting it in my water. In a 20oz cup I put 2 oz of crystal light or Kool-aid with splenda, then fill the rest up with water, it keeps my water interesting, then when I drink the crystal light full strength to take pills or something I'm pleasantly surprised at how tasty it is.
I say it's better to drink Crystal light or something made with Splenda than keep drinking calories the SAD way with white sugar.

I get the 1 serving packets of CL and add it to my 23.7 oz bottle of water but I learned quite early on that if I add the whole packet I get a "funny throat" too, it just feels wierd. I now only use 1/2 packet and only do it to two bottles of water per day, then have two bottles with a squirt of lemon and round out the rest of the day with coffee.

I was on a crystal lite tangent for months and months and then tired of it. Maybe it is time to check out some new flavours - the orange flavour sounds good. I was mixing it with carbonated mineral water (careful, it really fizzes up) but was really nice.

Btw, forcing yourself to drink those massive amounts of water is not necessary. The average person needs about a litre a day (approx. 4 8oz. cups) and most of that can be derived through the food that you consume.

Hi, I don't see it mentioned anywhere on the thread yet, I found crystal light with added fibre, in two flavours, it tastes really good and extra fibre is always a bonus!

I also had a problem with Crystal Light or any drink with lots of ascorbic acid. My mouth and gums and throat would actually hurt and feel sore. As soon as I cut way down to maybe one serving a day the problem cleared up. A long time ago they also had maltodextrin in Crystal Light, but I checked last week and don't see it listed anymore. I may give it a try again....very sparingly. For now I use the Mio drops but not the tea flavor.

I discovered last year that all the ice tea I was drinking really really stained my teeth . I had to give it up because getting my teeth cleaned was turning into a very unpleasant situation.
