I need salad dressing :(
I'm in such a mood for a salad but need some low calorie *creamy* dressings. Any ideas? I'm begging!

I put something in the DD recipes - it's a make it up as you go along type thing - dependent on taste...
Plain Yoghurt (ff or otherwise - as much as your cals allow and you've alloted) Lemon juice oregano thyme salt pepper chilli flakes? garlic salt? (not if you use normal salt) Mix it up - starting with small quantities until you get the taste you like. If you want it creamier - maybe add some gluc powder or xanthum or guar gum

Bolthouse Farms yogurt based dressing are delish (to me, anyway).
35-45 cals per 2 Tbsp. They are in the refrigerated salad section of my favorite store.

I buy really high-quality blue cheese dressing and then water it down quite a bit. It goes further and coats better and I can have a lot more for the calories. The flavor is already so strong that I don't mind the watered-down version at all.

opinions are divided on Walden farms, but I like their creamy bacon, and chipotal ranch!
Also, I like the Kraft range of low fat dressings, they have some lovely creamy ones for 15-17 cals per tablespoon. hugs Jo x

A trick I learned to save on calories regardless of what dressing you use is get your dressing on the side, then dip your fork into the dressing then into your salad. You get a taste with every bite and will barely use any dressing.

I've always done this as I can't stand for my salad to be drowning in dressing. My 7 year old has started doing it too. I thought we were the only ones.

Yeah - That's a trick I learned years ago in Weight Watchers! It really works well.

I do the same thing at restaurants. Usually the ranch is too thick anyway. At home I always water down my ranch. I use Walden fans dressings. Some of them aren't bad.

I was wondering about making Maries Blue thinner but wasn't sure what to use. Maybe I will try water in a sample and see how that works out.
