Mexican food

Tomorrow is my ud and I am planning on going to a mexican resturant. My ud calories are about 1878 so I have planned breakfast and lunch and its about 550 so I can leave room for my food. This will be my first time eating out since I have started so I'm a little scared. I like the seafood chimichangas they are 2 small ones with a cheese sauce over it with refrieded beans and a lettuce tomato side. Does anyone know how I can calculate my calories so I don't go overboard. I think I will be safe having 1300 calories to spare but I just don't want to mess up. I was always sure about lc foods b/c I could look at it and tell but with calories you just don't know.

Does the restaurant have a website?
Sometimes they post nutritional information on the
'net so you can figure it out before you get there.

I second the vote to check the website if you can. If not, what I do is try to find a similar item on ************ and enter it in my diary, cross my fingers, and hope for the best. We eat out a lot, and often at small, mom-and-pop ethnic places without websites. So far, this has worked for me and hasn't affected my weightloss at all.

Enjoy your dinner out! It sounds wonderful!

I did a quick search on another Mexican restaurant and they had 496 calories for a seafood chimichanga, so I bet you are about right on your calorie estimations.

When I'm in doubt or can't find info I just eat 1/2 or 3/4 of the meal. At least this way I'm saving some calories not eating the whole meal!

Be sure to google the restaurant and "calories" (like "bob's house of pies calories") because sometimes other sites will have the info for the dish you like

Mexican is DH's favorite food in the universe. Hole-in-the-wall, have-no-idea-about-the-calories restaurants. Like you, I restrict calories on a day I know we are going to feast. Then during the meal I pay special attention to eating to hunger and avoiding mindless gobble. That plan is currently working.

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

Well change of plans not having mexican but having broasted chicken and its local also but I found chicken that is comparable in calories. I also having a salad with an egg, cherry tomato, craisans and blue cheese dressing. Maybe after the 2 weeks are up we will do the mexican. I admit I was kinda scared.

Hi Daisy,

I live in Kokomo also, what a small world. The resturant is El Alerio's we simply love this place. I have to work but I work in Ft. Wayne so I have to get on the road soon.
