Husband reached his lowest weight in years

In only a few weeks of JUDDD, my husband has already lost 10 pounds. He is 6 foot 1 and was a little over 250 pounds, so he's overweight but not massively obese. He has been between 245 and 250 for years now, and this is the first time he's below 245 in a long time! I'm really happy that he's actually having success and sticking to this diet, in the past he NEVER sticks with anything for longer than a week, the deprivation always always gets to him. But he can do it every other day! Sure the evening of the down day he starts getting antsy again but so far so good AND he talked about it to a coworker and his coworker said he's going to start it too since he wants to lose 15 pounds. They are matching their days together so they can have lunch together and complain about how much down days suck

He also says that he has been less hungry on his up days, in the past he'd order a big meal at the restaurant and even though it was an up day and he COULD have eaten it, he only ate half because he wasn't hungry enough to eat the whole thing. So basically he's satisfied with normal portions now!

Yay! Great news on the weight loss, AND on being able to be satisfied with less.

I love that part of JUDDD, that you are able to be happy with less.

Thats awesome! funny after only a week and a half on JUDDD I am more satisfied with smaller portions than I ever was, it's eye opening to see what actual portion sizes should be!

My DH is doing well too, though he didn't weigh when he started. His face is slimmer and he's had to adjust his belt so I know he's losing.

awesome! that is the part of JUDDD I love, that I am ok with smaller portions and just do not like the feeling of stuffing myself.

Yes, I'm jealous! Due to hormonal swings I haven't lost anything at all in a week. In fact I gained 2-3 pounds and am just finally releasing that, I "love" that in a 4 week menstrual cycle I only actually can lose weight 2 out of the 4 weeks. But at least knowing this helps me not worry about it, but still... it would be more motivating to lose at a constant pace than not anything at all for half the time!

Who do we write to complain about men losing weight so fast?

I remember an old joke.

She(proudly): I scrimped calories, barely ate enough to keep on my feet, exercised an hour each day for a week and lost - ta da! - three pounds!!

He (off-hand): I skipped lunch and lost 18.

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

Lol @ nancy, so true! So Pleased to hear about all the dh's who are losing on this woe, you must be great support for each other! I do find it hard to watch my slender dh munch on biscuits and chocolate on my dd :-( He never seems to go over 175, no matter what he eats!

Hugs

I'll be excited to lose 2 lbs sometimes and DH will reply "I could go poop and lose 2 lbs." He finally is learning to keep his mouth shut though!
