Dottie that beef roast sounds so good!

Up day for me, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by choices, I think I'll make a shepherd's pie.

Having a DD today.

I plan to fast, drinking only plain iced tea until we go out for supper this evening. Nothing fancy, just going to surprise a woman I used to work with who helps her friend at a fun pub each Monday evening. I haven't seen her in ages, but we'll get there early, before the crowd starts showing up and I'll have a lite beer and a burger and get a chance to visit a bit. I'm looking forward to it.

So this is going to be a very easy DD. Fast and then eat once. Period.

DD here! Babysitting from 2:30-5, then 5:15-8.

I'm drinking a pot of green/mint tea right now.
I'll eat a OMM right before babysitting for the first time (55).
I think I'll bring dinner to make at 2nd babysitting, around 7:30: quarter head of cabbage, can of chicken, half a zucchini, a little chicken base, tomato juice, and soy sauce. (365)

Total, 420/420. Love it when I hit it right on target!

Felt hungry this morning despite a cup of coffee, and had an apple about 11:30.

Getting ready for lunch with my Grandma - we're having sausage links, eggs, pancakes!

Ended up having one egg, a bite of sausage and 2 pancakes. For the pancakes, she only had margarine and the syrup had hfcs, but I didn't say a word of course, just had it anyway, just didn't take as much as I would normally have taken.

Then I finished with an apple, since it helps my side ache feel better.

That's exactly how I handle situations like that. Long ago I decided I wasn't going to be the kind of person who demanded special treatment at someone elses home, special foods, or refuse to participate at all, so while I don't take much of some things, and eat even less of it, and leave much of it on the plate, I participate in the meal with them most happily. And I don't comment on their choices. LOL Margarine and HFCS. Ah.... I remember those days too.

There comes a time when most of us have to face the part of our lives when we will no longer have the opportunity to have a breakfast with our grandmother, nor a meal with our parents, etc. Enjoy while you can. I think you handled this exactly right and very lovingly!!!

Yes, you're so right - I would rather have a meal dripping with hfcs, trans-fatty acids, and 2000 chemicals on the label with my Grandma than a "clean, perfect" meal with her gone

So I do think of these things, and that's why it hurt me all summer long when I was on LC and would stay with her and have to bring my own special foods (pork rinds, hb eggs, leftover bacon and steak) Bleh... or to tell her I couldn't have whatever it was she'd fixed!

Another reason I am grateful to JUDDD that I can have anything and not appear to be on a diet. It's very freeing It lets me enjoy time with my precious family instead of focusing on foods.

I wasn't hungry at Breakfast time, so I'm saving my OMM (I made it last night) and cherry filling for lunch. If that's filling enough, that will be it until dinner. That will be 100 calories with my lunch, broth, coffee, and gluc capsules. Then I can shoot for a really low DD or have a good sized dinner.

DD came in at just under 800 - not too bad for holidays!!

D consisted of:
1/2 a veal sausage
small pork loin (should have just had one - but wanted to try both!)
lots of sauerkraut
salad

However, I did succumb to 2 small glasses of rose - and a few peanuts - if I hadn't - I would have probably had nearer to 500!! Oh well!!

I know what I am having for supper - Chili!

Today is a UD but I feel I should really watch my food intake. The scale it being very stubborn despite what my brain thinks.

Dang FatCat!

I got his cold- and today was the first day of school this quarter. Anyway, I
thought it would be easy to not eat because I would be in school all day, but
the only thing I've had so far is 6 generic cold pills. I'm craving hot drinks, but
all I have is coffee, so I just made a flourless chocolate cake to go with my next
coffee. I thought it was 205 calories, but it's only 190- close enough. I don't
know if I'll eat anything else. Just not feeling much like eating.

MD today - tweaking because I want tomorrow to be an UD. I'm having a late, long lunch with a good friend from work whose DBF is a chef at a terrific restaurant. She warned me he'll be sending out all kinds of yummy extras while we eat!! I'm so freakin' excited!

B: coffee, 3 egg omelet (210)
S: tangerine (35)
L: soup (320)
S: Fage (150)
D: cabbage stir-fry and a little ham & cauli casserole (550)

1265 total (pretty much bang on!)
