The Scale, She "BOUNCES"!!
THIS ^^^^ is a natural thing with JUDDD and if we make it a point to remember this then eating the JUDDD WOE will be less stressful and disappointing.
Now in maintenance I EXPECT the scale to be up a pound or 2 after an UD and down the same pound or 2 after a "sticking to my calories" DD. When I was losing the DDs always took those UD pounds away and some of their cousins, too. Now I eat at my maintenance level calories and the same pounds come on and go off, day after day. ![]() It's just the facts of JUDDD so I NEVER stress! And either should you!!! ![]()

![]() I know you know what you are talking about, and I want to believe you about bouncing, but is the following normal/expected? I mean, up and down 1 lb every day for this long? ![]() 30-Nov UD morning 1623 cals 150.6 1-Dec DD morning 618 cals 151.2 2-Dec UD morning 2081 cals 150.2 (pizza for lunch) 3-Dec DD morning 589 cals 151.5 4-Dec UD morning 1755 cals 150.5 5-Dec DD morning 541 cals 151.8 6-Dec UD morning ??? 150.4 Each weight is first thing in the morning. So, as you can see, after every DD, I lose 1 lb., and after every UD, I gain 1 lb. Just wondering if I'm being too impatient, or I need to change something. ![]() |

I have lost after UDs (continuous downward scale movement), I've gained after DDs, and I've had as much as a 3 lb difference between my weight after UD to my weight after DD. This is all this month!

My scale bounced right out of the house!
![]() Okay, I never really figured out how my old scale compared to the dr's office. Then it got flooded and died last week. I went 2 days without a scale (oh, the horror ![]() Sunday's weigh-in on my new scale had me up almost a pound over Thursday's weigh-in on my old scale. I did an experiment this morning, since I had a dr's appt. I did my normal weigh-in when I got up (233.2), then had my water (I usually drink several cups of water in the morning with my pills/vitamins). I took my shower, dressed, and weighed again (239.6!). If that doesn't illustrate what clothes and water can do, I don't know what will! 6.4 lbs difference in just a couple of hours. Then, I made sure I didn't eat or drink anything else, and I did not use the restroom from that weigh-in until I had my dr's appt. The dr's scale registered 238. I am using the number from my new scale from now on, but not freaking out about the "gain" because I know it's just the difference in scales. I didn't even "lose" 1/2 a pound last week, according to those scales, but I know better.
