I can't remember the name of the steak, but is an 8 oz covered with cheese and spices. I sub the sides with extra broccoli. Pretty good for the money.

I usually either ask for a plain grilled chicken breast with broccoli on the side and butter of course or a grilled chicken salad with ranch.

Applebees is one of my favorite places to eat LC. They are willing to go the extra mile to make your dinner a good one. At least ours is.I like the smothered chicken breast with no onions and extra loaded broccoli. They have a very good steak, too.

They also have a couple of really tasty salads that are very LC.

I've eaten there twice as it's my daughters favorite place. I had a steak with double veggies and extra butter and had a couple bites of spinach artichoke dip with a spoon and water, it was pretty good but the butter was very salty.

While Chain restuarants provide a service and can be inexpensive and enjoyable, I hope you guys still go to local restuarants as much as you can!

(sorry had to chime in with a anti-chain rant, dont mind me lol)

I get the philly burger without the bun and sub the fries for some well done broccoli or mixed veggies. I have to have the white sauce that comes with it and put it on my veggies. It is soooo good.

I'm not someone who just drools at the idea of eating a steak, so I tend to avoid ordering them even when doing low carb. I went to Applebees over the weekend and ended up ordering the fried fish (from the "fish & chips") and a small salad. Even when not eating low carb I would crack open the breading on the fish and just eat the fish out of it. There's so much breading that even when I'm done, it doesn't look like I ate anything!

My fave- Fiesta lime chicken! I must have confused the poor waitress because all they did was put the cheese on it and not the lime sauce. Subbed for fresh veggies (which weren't great- mostly carrots, bean pod of some sort and a few zucchini slices) and a side of spinach which was a sad little spoonful.

But I still love it. Next time I'm getting loaded broccoli x2.

Has anyone noticed a lack of splenda at their restaurant? When I first started I went in and ordered water (I was a lover of the sweet tea big time!). They didn't have any splenda and at that time the thought of unsweet tea was unthinkable. Still not a fan, but ezsweetz has saved me. Love my applebees!
