Rotel/cream cheese/ground beef?

I keep seeing this mentioned in people's posts of what they ate. Is this all that's in it?

Thanks!!

I just found the recipe, but don't know how to link - sorry!

I am going to make this for dinner tonight - it is getting rave reviews:

Brown 2-1/2 pounds of ground beef, 1/2 package of ground sausage (the roll kind). Drain grease, then add one 10 oz. can of Rotel and one 8 oz. block of cream cheese. Cook until cream cheese is melted.

Sounds like it is worth a try!

I've eaten this once a day for 4 days and I weighed myself this morning and I am down 5 lbs. People had said that this helped with loss, but I really didn't believe it until I saw it for myself! I also added a dash of hotsauce on top before eating.

Lauireninva, what type of hotsauce do you put on it? Do you eat this by itself or with veggies? Sounds like this would be good with romain lettuce cups.

I love this recipe cause I can dump any leftover veggie in it also, just to get rid of the veggie.
Rotel is spicy, but not painfully so.
Also, cumin, chili, or any spice you like might add some extra tang. Its a great play around with recipe

Okay, so One 10oz can of Rotel original has 7 net carbs, according to Free Calorie Counter, Free Diet Plans, Nutrition Facts & Food Diary | ************.com
I think the whole recipe would be 15 carbs, give or take a few.

Yeah, or use crumbled sausage instead of the ground beef. Way better!

Can this be made with just ground beef and no sausage? (I'm not crazy about sausage).

Sure, you can do anything, but it will certainly not be as high in protein, and the carb percentage will be higher as well. I doubt I would care for the taste, but YMMV!

No, I only ate it for one meal per day (lunch) and portioned out about a cup and a 1/4. I used 2 lbs of ground beef, one roll of sausage, 8 oz cream cheese and a 10 oz can of Rotel. I topped it with this green hot pepper sauce (can't remember the name, but its REALLY hot), just a dash. I ate other foods for my other meals.

When I entered it into ******, I put it in as 1 cup ground beef, 1/4 cup sausage, 1.5 oz tomatoes and 1.5 oz cream cheese, per serving. I wasn't in the mood to enter the recipe as a Custom Food so I just did it manually each time I ate it.

If you can't find Rotel, then just use canned tomatoes and canned green chilis separately.

Del Monte also makes canned diced tomatoes with green chilies. I like heat, so I add a little diced canned chipotles to it, since the rotel/del monte is a little more on the mild side.

For those that have Aldi stores, they have a version of the tomatoes & green chilies that are as good/better than Rotel, and cheaper.

I think I'm going to have to make some this week. My mom used to make a dip with sausage, velveta, and salsa, and this sounds like it would taste similar. I also have been getting disgusted with ground beef so I need a new recipe. I usually cant eat cream cheese but I ate it this week and didn't have a problem. I wish I had the ingredients to make it tonight.

babette, im a fellow surrey girl (haha) and i made this the other day. i skipped the sausage, used the lowest sugar diced tomatoes i could find, a small can green chiles, and i also chopped up and added pickled jalapenos. its GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. high in calories, but i guess thats to be expected. i got 7 servings out of mind and rounded up carb counts to 5 carbs, 1g fiber per serving. not bad!
