Doh, no smoker here....anyone know how to make this in an oven or other typical cooking device???? This looks incredible! I've purchased so many items over the years just for low carbing but my hubbie may take issue with this one

You definitely could do it in the oven..I would do a low oven 325 for an hour or more..
Anyone else?

I love the way the person wove the bacon..very pretty.

LOL..I just made this one yesterday! It was something like 8 1/2 inches long and 3 inches in dia. It was pretty good! Sorry about the ugly plate. It wouldn't fit on any other one we had.

Instead of waiting until summer, can a person safely put some wood chips in the oven with the meat? It sounds safe, but then again, they might catch on fire.

Why wait untill summer? I have my smoker going right now doing jerky. It's in the garage out of the wind. It smells good in there though!

wcwendy....I would think that your house would get all smoky if you did it in your oven. That smoke has to escape and when you open the oven door it would just roll out into the kitchen. If i was doing one in the oven I would put a drying rack on a cookie sheet and then the meat on the drying rack. Lots of fat will drain out of the sausage and bacon.

If you do do one in the oven just make sure the temp inside the meat reaches 165 degrees! When it hits 165 it's done and safe to eat.

I never did say what was in mine. It was a pizza fattie. Fattie is the name that was given to them at the web site that I found it at. Mine had pizza sauce, mozzerella and mild cheddar cheese in it. I;ve seen people stuff everything in them. One guy put french toast strips in his. Add some maple syrup to it and you have a complete breakfast. To bad I'm doing low carb...that sounds pretty good to me. I want to make one with sausage egg and cheese with the bacon wrap. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow and take some more pics.

I just made 2 more. They are sitting in the freezer chilling out for a bit and will go into the smoker real soon. One is bacon cheese burger and the other is sausage, egg, and cheese. Check back in about 4 hours and I should have a pic of one sliced up for you.

Update...

Two hours into the smoke. The internal temp is 149 degrees and has to reach 165 before it's done. The garage is filled with smoke, smells pretty good though. The one on the right is the sausage, egg, and cheese and the one on the left is the bacon cheeseburger. The sausage one had to be wrapped pretty tight because I put too much stuff in it. That's why it's so fat.
