My goal for this blitz was 25, I may be down 1 or 2, IF I'm lucky. Ok, I checked the numbers, down around 15, I'll take it! One slip-up at the Chinese place, that wasn't too bad. I'm impressed with myself making it almost a year and only 1 oops! Two if you count the ham I wasn't aware was sugar cured until after I ate it, but that wasn't intentional.

My sister got her new hip yesterday, she's already taken a few steps. It looks like she goes home Wednesday, actually to Mom and Dad's, she won't be able to make it up her porch steps.

We got the septic tank pumped out yesterday, the reason we couldn't do laundry or shower. About 3/4 of it got emptied before the guys truck quit on him and it stopped sucking it out. All is well now in the house, knock on wood!!!

Food for today, sausage for breakfast, ham and cheese for lunch (realized just now I forgot to buy pickles yesterday), and dinner will be an Italian pork loin in the crock pot.

I.M. HUNGRY.

have not eaten since 1 pm yesterday. I could not decide between the diner and Chinese. I went with the diner, as they owe me an iced coffee. I am getting my chicken soup, 2 sandwiches w/o bread; corned beef and boiled ham/cheddar. I may have to order food this evening. we shall see. anyway, the food is on its way. Chris, over the years we have had soooo much trouble with water, hurricanes, roof leaks, pipes bursting. Water can cause so much destruction. Sorry about your basement and laundry problems. You are amazing to only have the one slip for the year! Good going! Great job on the spaghetti dinner fund raiser and so nice to give the food to the place that helps the homeless veterans.

FF, I think you are doing the Fast Five diet like me. lol That was some long fast between meals! You have got to be loving the temperatures today. I had to put a sweater on in the house because I felt chilly.

Tony, hope that hip straightens out! Pretty soon we will have to rename this group Surgery City! Yes Tony, I did work quite awhile as temp. From Nov. of 2014 until March of 2015. So I have been employed by the elastic company 2 years and almost 3 months. It seems much longer than that. lol :

i don't even know what the fast 5 diet is.

I am only aware that I am doing Phase 1 of ATKINS as described in DANDR. I have no desire to go hungry. the Gods were merciful again yesterday. I nodded off at about 6-ish, and made it to JEOPARDY. then I fell asleep again, and woke up every now and then, and fell asleep until about 4 a.m. it was worth it, when I think of how many carbs, calories, and latinum I saved. I AM curious to see how thermogenesis will affect my weight loss efforts. but, be assured, hunger is NOT a sensation I wish to experience. I am finally getting out today, for some errands. the humidity is low for NYC. I think I may be able to get my fan today-at SHOPRITE. they deliver Mon-Fri. I need to have it by Fri, as the temps will rise to 90 as well as the humidity. let us all enjoy day 8 of summer. also, let us make a special effort in these last 3 days of BLITZ XXIX to focus on food behaviors. that means: NO DIETING. we are eating like kings within the parameters of our plans. FF, Fast Five diet is only eating in a 5 hour window each day. Proponents of intermittent fasting say there are lots of health benefits to letting our systems rest from eating all day long one of which is reduced cancer risk. I am still researching some of the other claims.

Enjoy the low humidity day!

I seriously need to revamp my eating schedule!! I've been slacking on the nothing after 6pm rule lately, 8 o'clock last evening and I'm having a salad? I wanted it way more than I needed it.

i just eat when i am hungry...

and I stop when I am satisfied. yesterday, I divided my food into 2 eating times: 1 pm and 2:30 pm...finished at 3 pm. this incl house special soup, sauceless sliced roast pork, and sauceless roast pork egg fu young. I was not hungry enough to eat anything else. this afternoon, I will enjoy the roast chicken dinner (very well done), and 2 bunless cheeseburgers with a sunnyside egg atop each burger. again, I hope that will be enough. BUT, if it isn't, I will NOT hesitate to eat more. Enjoy summer day #9, y'all. Tomorrow is the last day of the current Blitz.. I will begin BLITZ XXX. I hope it goes as fast as this one did. Tony, how is your sister doing?

Chris, I am notorious for sort of mindless eating. Sometimes it is just out of boredom. I am so determined to stick with this long term if only to train myself to control my eating.

FF, your meals always sound so good except the sunny side eggs on top of the bunless cheeseburgers.

Well, tomorrow will be 3 weeks since I started this intermittent fasting and they say now I should lose a pound of fat a week. So hoping this will work for me. As I said before, I plan on being verrrrry patient this time around. I am down 4 pounds since starting this but so far it doesn't look like it was 4 pounds of fat.

beginning a life style change.

insofar as physical activity in my condition is so limited, I decided to go back to 1972 ATKINS, at least until Sept 23. that means under 20 grams TOTAL CARBS daily, instead of NET CARBS. for example, yesterday, instead of the potato that comes with the entrée, I always get a double dose of a green veggie. but, I only ate 1/2 cup of the roasted broc in garlic, which, btw was my ONLY source of carb yesterday. so, I cannot be cavalier in things like cheese, cold cuts,or beveridges. etc. I switched to lemon diet Snapple (zero carbs per bottle), from diet peach, or diet raspberry which has 1 gr per bottle. as I average about 2 to 3 bottles of diet Snapple PER DIEM, that is a good decision. I will continue to do what exercise I can. I will be at SHOPRITE late this afternoon, so I can walk the aisles. I have been lax on taking vitamin supplements, so I will begin again. so, it will be 2 small green salads a day, OR 1/2 cup of veggies daily, NOT BOTH. I do not want to turn this plan into yet another diet, so if it becomes unsustainable, I WILL add a FEW more grams daily, when necessary, but I WILL continue to count TOTAL CARBS, instead of NET CARBS through Sept 23. Wish me luck y'all. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGH

It sounds like everyone did well during this blitz. I will pop over to the new one. Home from a whirlwind college visit trip with 17 year old and easing into LCHF.

Abs, I can't wait to hear about the IF you will be doing. I have read about it.

ff-Good luck on the 72' Atkins. I can't seem to do 20 g of carbs. I hate counting LOL.

Chris, you almost short changed yourself.

Tony, how did you do?
