Anyone have it tested? Did your results come in the way you expected?

I have had it tested several times and it varies more than I would have thought it should. I have tested as low as 3 uIU/mL (I don't know what the measurements means, but that's what the lab report says) when low carbing, but with the same basic diet have been 6-7 at other times. My two most recent tests, with more fasting but also more carbs, have been 9-9.7. "Normal" according to the report is 2.0-19.6.

My doctor (who is pretty progressive and up on things) says my insulin level is great. I tend to think lower would be better. My a1c is always under 5 though.

Thanks for sharing that Gina. I have different units of measure but the reference ranges are 20 - 180 pmol/L and mine measured 46. I am told that that 'translates' into something like 7.5 in U.S. measures which is fine I guess but I am thinking that given my history, I am still insulin resistant.

I guess I am wondering if it is possible to ever totally reverse this....

Yes, I've had mine tested multiple times because of PCOS. When I was eating high carb and not on metformin it was higher than normal - high 20's (µU/ml, reference range 2.6-24.9 µU/ml). After I started metformin but still eating high carb it was "normal", low 20's, but still much higher than desirable. The best reading I had was around 5 when I was eating strictly keto (and still on metformin). Recently I tested at 9.9, not ideal but still good considering I have been eating more carbs and have gained some weight.
