thinking thinly, awesome on your too big of a salad for DD! Always nice to have portions that you're able to leave on the plate. Yay!
Have you ever had the high percentage chocolate before? It definitely doesn't take like 'regular' chocolate-I actually hated it. I wonder if I could dip it in splenda

I had a big problem with Green and Black last year about this time... I found them at a discount outlet and purchased 30 bars to give out as presents for the holidays...BIG BIG BIG MISTAKE.

Oh dear, I feel your pain there.

These days I eat the darkest chilli chocolate and even on an UD I don't eat much. Boy I love it, I find the milk and white have hardly any flavour now.

Ahhhh yea, I love dark chocolate. Although, honestly, any kind will do. I could probably live on chocolate, in fact, I am sure I could! {sigh}

Chili Chocolate?? I've got to try that. OR SHOULD I. I have to say the only chocolate that I will pass on is the Palmers chocolates or some of the ones they sell at the dollar store. Forget about white chocolate... and why are they allowed to call it chocolate?...

I have such a hard time getting some foods that I REALLY liked out of my head. A friend told me she tried an almond joy creamer..(or was it Mounds) and it was good.
Now I can't get that out of my mind...Why didn't she tell me about that before I jumped back on Juddd...

ETA: I also posted this on the main forum...no need to answer here...I didn't think about this thread being centered to newbies.

Hoping all of you can help me out there...

I am on Day 2...DD yesterday, UD today. I have recently reached my goal & need to maintain.

Yesterday was a breeze...410 calories...was not hungry...ate every few hours.

Today...I am having a hard time so far...definitely NOT hungry! I have managed to get 1053 cal. out of 1841, and still have dinner to go. I have been trying to eat some pretty fatty items to get the count up.

How crucial is it to reach the 1841 cal.? What is the lowest amount of cal. to eat in order to succeed. I feel like I have pigged out today...I know I haven't...but I am coming off of HCG, so anything more than 500 is a lot...lol. I prefer to not eat too much sugar/starch. I tend to do well on high fat/LC.

I know it is a head-game...I feel like I will be gaining 10 lbs. by tomorrow instead of STS

What should I expect tomorrow coming off of an UD? I certainly know it will not be a loss or STS...lol. How long does it take to see the effect of STS or a loss?

Sorry...this is a TON of questions!!!!

Expect a bounce with JUDDD, but with that I will say the bounce is unpridictable at times. I would check out the current and past daily-weigh-in threads to see how there is always a bounce but the trend is also always downward for people in WLM who stick to rotations. I will try to post a link in a few moments that demonstrates the bounce over several months.

This demonstates the bounce over a long while with a consistant downward trend.

TY Carly!!!

So it was only a few lbs. in the beginning...then you started downward within a few days. Good to see this..I was fearing a huge bounce up in the morning.

I also posted this question in the forum, got to thinking that the Newbies prolly wouldn't know this answer...DUH!

Thanks again!!!

Please, please try to relax, Angela.

No one here can possibly know what your body will do over the next few days or even weeks. But if you are following your rotations as best you can (and none of us is prefect) you will maintain.

Please understand that 'STS' or down or even "OMG">>>>up that will be okay too. We are looking at your life here Angela. We are not looking at a daily or weekly graph. It is tough to see this, but you are in maintenance which requires a new approach.

Big hugs. And love.xxx

Breathe, Angela, if you can. It's wayyyy too early to do anything but rotate as best you can. It gets easier.

Thanks Kissa!

I am okay, actually...was just wondering what to expect, and what others did in the beginning to help with their eating/calories in the beginning. I figured there would be some who started out this way...and might be able to give me some first-hand experiences.

It just seems too good to be true...KWIM? I really LOVE low carb eating, but JUDDD seems to blow that out of the water in terms of what you are able to eat on UD's and still lose weight. But...I SEE the results from all these posts

Thanks again!!!! Appreciate it

What will be will be. None of us says don't do LC, just test the waters.

You don't have to leap into high carb, just do what feels right for you, be gentle with yourself. The real tool is the rotation, up and down, up and down, just keep on keeping on.

Move gently through the early UDs and DDs, post here often and believe in JUDDD. We do!

Hang in there, Angela! I know nothing about maintenance (oh how I wish I did!) but understand thinking the scale will go up after eating so much on an UD. This is the first UD that I have actually been able to eat right about at my calorie recommendations and I am beyond stuffed. (ick) Mentally, I expect a huge scale swing up tomorrow, but what will be will be! I am hoping that after a few months of this, I will see a great trend heading downward and learn to ease up on myself about it.

You know it's an UD when you are dragging walnut halves through marscapone to get more calories after a dinner of sausage and you're not at all hungry.

That's what I'm saying...LOL I managed to do a high fat hamburger patty, bacon crumbled on top, added A-1 sauce, and blue cheese crumbles...almost 500 calories alone

That's what I love about JUDDD!!! Things that were off limits totally on low carb are now FINE on UD's! EVERY OTHER DAY!!! How awesome is that?! Unfortunately, I also got a creamer stuck in my head that I wanted to try and finally saw it at Walmart about 3 weeks ago and almost cried because I knew I couldn't have it on LC (Coffee Mate Coconut Creme). Now, it's again not available.

Good morning! How are all the new peeps doing, this lovely day before T-day???

Getting the grumblies, but planning on a really low down day today. We'll see how it plays out! Kids have a 1/2 day of school & I'd like to drag them out to take some pictures for the Christmas cards today before it gets chilly out again. Hopefully I'll stay super busy today. I think I can wait to do most of my Thanksgiving foods until tomorrow. That'll help!

Today is a DD and we're taking my husband's grandma out to lunch at a local restaurant I was leaning towards just making today a MD, but I've gained 1.5lbs since deciding to start eating carbs again (which I guess is a normal bounce as your body adjusts). The weight gain is making me feel down so I want to have a good DD before Thanksgiving tomorrow. I guess I'll just have a diet soda at the restaurant, but it's going to be hard because they make all their food from scratch and it's so good

eta: ok, pity party over Going to rock my DD today so I can have a great Thanksgiving

I don't know if they even have salads-it's more of a 'deep fry everything' kind of restaurant I'm going to treat myself to a small Wendy's chili before we go, so I won't be hungry

No salads even? Eeek! Yea, I'd be eating some yummy chili first, too. Good luck! Think of all the yummies you'll be eating tomorrow.

I have been binge eating on my UP DAYS! Help!!!!

I don't know if its because I have been sick and just not feeling myself for the last couple of days. But we had a huge dinner at my house on Sunday and I ate until I was physically sick (4000 calories + ) and then I did it again yesterday. I went to bed with a huge headache and felt sick to stomach.

I feel so sick today, and I know today will be a great DD. But why do I keep doing this to myself??

On top of it all I weighed myself this morning (5 lbs more!) . i weigh in on saturdays at WW meetings with my mom. So I was thinking of doing a 3 day protein fast until then and continue with rotations on saturday.

I have been doing so good, I really don't want to get caught up in a binge, restrict cycle

I'm not sure what advice to give. I have been eating at least some junk every UD, so I may need to start planning healthier eating myself. I had decided not to finish my McDonald's Flurry last night, but pulled it back out of the fridge at 10 pm and ate every bit, lol. All I can think of is to limit carbs (what?!, lol) and add more fat to your UD's so that you feel satisfied and aren't tempted to binge.
