Konjac Foods Oat & Fruit Fiber Noodles

Has anyone tried them? They list a big variety of fruits, and I'm wondering if the fruit flavor comes through.

TIA!

Hi, Sunny

I looked on the konjac site and couldn't find these.

Where did you see them?

I just ordered 4 pk sample size. One of each: Apple, blueberry, plum and ?? Forgot the last one, lol. Hoping Netrition will carry them soon. I'll let you know how they taste after I try them.

Opps, I've been asleep at the wheel; sorry!

Ginny, at konjac foods, on the order form, they are a section right below the Konjac Oat fiber noodles.

Wow, Linda, I'd never noticed the "4 sample" option, cool! I just ordered Apple, Cranberry and then some regular oat fiber noodle selections. Thanks for pointing that out.

Okay, I have now sampled the Cranberry and also Apple fiber oat shiritake, and any "taste" is not discernible by myself or DH, certainly not "fruity. That said, they are both an appealing light brown color, with little dark specks in them; look kinda like soba noodles. Also since they are currently on sale at a price that with shipping makes them $1.25 / bag, I'm going to order a case of linguine and angel hair, in Apple. I really burn through Oat Fiber Shiritake noodles! So far this year, about 4 cases.

Cases of Konjac foods noodles are usually $29, with $11 shipping, which makes their normal price $1.66 (24 bags). ALL of their fruit & oat fiber noodles are now at the $19 /case price, so maybe they are discontinuing them. However, they also currently have normal Oat Fiber Angel Hair, at the $19 / case price (I got two cases of those last week). They have a one year shelf life, without refrigeration.

When I first tried the Oat Shiritake noodles early this year, I got a variety box, which came with a bunch of larger shapes I figured I would never use. But someone here suggested food processing them, and thank you! that works really well. I find the larger sizes to be more rubbery, but angel hair, orzo, even linguine suits me fine.

Yes, get out that food processor - even the mini! Best imitation of rice yet

I was using the orzo shape (oat fiber variety) so much I ran out of them, but I still had quite a few packages of linguine.

After rinsing and dousing in vinegar and microwaving, I put the noodles in my mini food processor and let it chop till a fine consistency was reached. Best imitation of rice yet! My DH opened a container that was in the refrigerator and started to heat it up as "his" rice!

I now do three packages at a time, one to eat with dinner, the other two put in lidded containers in the fridge. Now I always have "rice" prepared!:jumpy:
